*Sigh* a few months ago I decided to stop using the Cpap, I'd say more like six months ago...At least five, but it could be six, I didn't write it down so I can't recall. Anyway I have been sleeping badly and I know you're all going to ask "Why did you stop?" Thing is I think it was my own fault for not looking into it better, I got a large nasal mask and it was pushing on my teeth something fierce and it made my face ache but as it was my first time getting one I wanted a large like I had used at the sleep study, little did I know I am probably more of a medium, maybe even a small...

So I was put off using it and slowly my sleep got worse and worse and now I am really having a rough time sleeping. So tonight I got everything out, cleaned it and am setting it up again for the first time this year. I called today about a replacement so I can get another but in the RIGHT size...AND I can get replacement masks every three months so I am going to do just that. I was pretty impressed with the medical supplier's attitude and willingness to work with me and get here before my son gets home from school and get this, they can come out day after tomorrow! :D

As you can see I am pretty desperate to get a good night's sleep again and I need to get my crap together and KEEP using this machine for my own good. I know it sure as I am sitting here that it DOES help with all kinds of things. I was getting depressed and sad again but that changed a month ago when we got a baby turtle. :D I just love him! And it's done wonders for my spirits, I feel so uplifted just watching the little guy swimming around and doing his thing, it's amazing! I am really okay in spite of the poor sleeping patterns, like today my son got up and I had to get up with him at 5AM. Just awful and no matter how much coffee I drink I am still tired all day. I have to say his doing that this morning is part of what motivated me to call the supplier and to get everything out again. I hate feeling this way!

So how are all of you doing? Still using your machines faithfully? Feeling better? I sure hope so. :)

I continually adjust my mask until I get a comfortible fit. I will stop breathing for minutes at a time if I do not wear mine, so not wearing it is not an option. Keep working with it if it becomes too tight, or sore on your face. Loosen the straps enough to keep the mask firm, but not too tight. I know it is a battle, but once you get it, it is worth it.

How's it going Pam? Did you get the right mask and start using your machine again? I really notice a difference when I dont use mine tho I still fall asleep during the day even when I use my oxygen and cpap.

Today my psych recommended putting me on Provigil. He says mostly insurance will only cover it if you have sleep apnea AND are using a cpap which I am. Tho the thought of another prescription when I cant hardly afford all the ones Im on now plus the ones the boys are on just drives me nuts .

I hope you are using yours again and got the right mask now.

Yep, I got the right mask and my secondary insurance won't cover supplies so I am stuck coughing up 35 bucks every three months. :( Oh well, its working at least. :D I feel a lot better. I hope the provigil works for you Gina Marie, keep us posted on how its going okay? :D

Im glad you got your new mask. Bummer about having to pay the copays. Im glad its every few months and not every month.

ugggggggg I told my primary doc about the provigil and she doesnt want me on it. SHE says its NOT for people with Sleep apnea and says I dont need to be on it and that I just need my cpap adjusted and to talk to my pulmonary doctor.

uggggggggggggg she frustrates me.. I told my psych about it and he is frustrated and told me I need to stand up for myself and tell her IT IS for sleep apnea. I can take her the info from thier site.. Im just bad at standing up to people.. which reminds me.. I MEANT to call my pulmonary doc and forgot . This coming week will be crazy with my oldest graduating high school then leaving for San Francisco next weekend for Adam and Noah's surgery on the 2nd.

Oh to be able to sit here and NOT fall asleep..:o

I will keep trying..
