Its and election year and its time to contact the presidental candidates hilary clinton. com johnmccain. com barrakobama. com and all your state senators

Its time to make a difference and make the awarness known and show we all care I can't do this alone I need all of your help I have written the goals and I have made it easy all you have to do is copy and paste make everyone aware

1st of all we know to raise awarness and then I would like to go even further to get laws stricter on domestic violence I am tired of victims being scarred to call out for help thats the biggest problem

I want those who help them family memeber to temporally be able to make decisions for them until they go through the channels to get help they need not just a shelter I want this added in the law if there are no loved ones to help then someone assinged to show they care for them and have helped others in the situation more or less a new job title domestic violence victim guardian angel

As if they do get help there afraid of revenge of the abuser when he gets out or what the fines will cost the family it will take there home away there food supply etc..... this goes through the heads of the abused

I want new laws that

the first time your put in jail for abuse you will not get out till you go through all classes like a sex offender program nothing less then a year I want the victim given one of them button things like sr citizens get for fear of danger that they can keep hidden that calls police automaticly

Instead of restraing orders which some have died in court being shot by there abuser and shot no matter if there is a order or not these don't stop any abuser as there detemined to get revenge and you have to pay for restraing orders and most victims go and void it out of fear

If there is a second offence I want that jerk to sit for 5 yrs which again there is no assistance for victims if there offender is the main income I want a law that keeps them on there feet till they can get help of some sort

I want victims to have to go to classes mandatory to learn just how wrong abuse is after the first charge and to help them stop the cycle

We can't make a victim change there mind but we can make a difference with better laws

The biggest problem now is that there abusers are getting out of jail with the I am sorrry etc,.,,, and next thing another dead victim Its sicking and must stop

3rd offence at least 10-20 yrs I want abusers treated just like a violent criminal like robbery as there robbing there victims life of sainity

I will work to do this till the day I die I will find the right channels I will make a differnce some how it may take many years but I am determined and won't stop till I make a difference

This is my biggest goal abuse won't stop unless laws change and victims no longer have to live in fear

to many people I have talked with are surviors and still live in fear each day for them to return with the final blow there survivors who have to continuse to live in fear which still gives the abuser the upper hand

Usually a abuser will sit over night and there out what good does this do NONE what do they learn NOTHING Abuse is a disease just as alcohol and needs to be seen that way and has to be fixed

So these are some of my goals and I won't see it as immpossible I will do it some how some way this can be done I will contact whom ever I need to to get this done I have faith its a matter of stop the violence and can be done

Dear Kristine:

Thank you for contacting me to share your concerns regarding the importance of domestic violence prevention for women. I am glad to hear from you on this important issue.

As you may know, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) is the law that authorizes numerous successful and lifesaving programs to end sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking. During my first year as your U.S. Senator, I joined a coalition of Senators to advocate full funding of the VAWA programs in the Department of Health and Human Services and Department of Justice, which is a combined authorization of $1 billion, despite President Bush’s budget request which dramatically underfunds VAWA.

Prior to being elected to the Senate, I served eight years as the Hennepin County Attorney, leading an office of nearly 400 people who work with police and crime victims every day. As such, I am very familiar with the issues surrounding domestic and sexual abuse and the importance of federal, state, and local partnerships in providing services to those touched by the scourge of domestic and sexual violence. In that position, both the prevention and prosecution of domestic violence were always among my top priorities. I fought for stricter laws, better training for law enforcement officials, improved services for victims, and new approaches to protect children who are caught in the crossfire of violent homes and families. Additionally, I was a part of the collaborative Hennepin County Domestic Abuse Service Center which offered immediate services to victims and their families. This center has served thousands of families and is recognized as a national model for service delivery.

Please know that as your U.S. Senator, I will continue to make these programs a priority. Again, thank you for taking the time to share your opinion. Please contact me again about this issue or other matters of concern to you.

Sincerely,

Amy Klobuchar
United States Senator

Lets work together and change the laws

To whom it may concern:

Its time to make a difference and make the awareness known and show we all care I can't do this alone I need all of your help I have written the goals and I have made it easy

1st of all we know to raise awareness and then I would like to go even further to get laws stricter on domestic violence I am tired of victims being scared to call out for help; that’s one of the biggest problems

I want those who help them family member to temporarily be able to make decisions for them until they go through the channels to get help they need not just a shelter I want this added in the law if there are no loved ones to help then someone assigned to show they care for them and have helped others in the situation more or less a new job title domestic violence victim guardian angel if there are drugs and alcohol involved I want them to learn about sobriety as this is important to there healing

As if they do get help there afraid of revenge of the abuser when he gets out or what the fines will cost the family it will take there home away there food supply etc..... this goes through the heads of the abused

I want new laws that

the first time your put in jail for abuse you will not get out till you go through all classes like a sex offender program nothing less then a year I want the victim given one of them button things like senior citizens get for fear of danger that they can keep hidden that calls police automatically

Instead of restraining orders which some have died in court being shot by the abuser and shot no matter if there is a order or not these don't stop any abuser as they are determined to get revenge and you have to pay for restraining orders and most victims go and void it out of fear

If there is a second offence I want that jerk to sit for 5 yrs. Which again, there is no assistance for victims if their offender is the main income. I want a law that keeps them on their feet until they can get help of some sort.

I want victims to have to go to classes mandatory to learn just how wrong abuse is after the first charge and to help them stop the cycle.

We can't make a victim change their mind but we can make a difference with awareness and better laws to support this.

The biggest problem now is that the abusers are getting out of jail with the-- "I am sorry" etc. And next thing you hear is there is another dead victim. It’s sickening and must stop.

3rd offence at least 10-20 yrs I want abusers treated just like a violent criminal like robbery; as they are robbing their victim’s life of liberty and sanity.

I will work to do this until the day I die. I will find the right channel. I will make a difference some how. It may take many years, but I am determined, and won't stop until I make a difference.

This will be my biggest goal. Abuse won't stop unless laws change and victims no longer have to live in fear. Secondly, when an abused person gets free of the abuser, the abuser goes to a new victim, of which the new victim is not, and cannot-- be aware of his past criminal behavior towards women. Certainly, the abuser isn’t going to tell his new victim of his past criminal history. There should be some law that requires abusive people to register as abusers, the same as sexual abusers are required to register. In this way a woman, or a man, so be the case, are able to check the record and know with whom they are dealing with in a new relationship.

Too many people I have talked with are survivors and still live in fear each day for them to return with the final blow. There are survivors who continue to live in fear, which continues to give the abuser the upper hand.

Usually an abuser will sit over night and they’re out. What good does this do? NONE. What do they learn? NOTHING. Abuse is a disease just as alcohol and needs to be seen that way and must be fixed. When an abuser cannot be treated, with the classes set up for Domestic Violence after the first offense, they need to be treated as criminal predators and treated as criminals, by incarcerating them to the maximum penalty.

So these are some of my goals and I won't see it as impossible. I will do it, some how, some way. This can be done I will contact whom ever I need to get this done. I have faith.
It is a matter of stopping the violence, and can be done

I cannot do this on my own. People have to start contacting the candidates and pushing the subject---please help.

Here are some facts:
A man cuts the head off a duck gets 81 days in jail---
a man beats his wife, and gets a night in jail.

I love animals but this is a little strange. Anyone involved in animal abuse such as, **** fighting, dog fighting, etc, are imposed more penalty than an abuser of another human being.

When a stranger assaults a person they look at jail time and fines. Domestic violence offenders get maybe a night in jail at most. 2nd and 3rd time offenders may be ordered Anger Management and Domestic Violence classes in some instances, and they are let out without any prison time, put back out into society on an informal probation possibly, without the probationer being required to show to anyone any change in their life.

IT IS TIME FOR CHANGE. Let’s stop calling it Domestic Violence and calling it what it really is in HOME TERRORISM.

((((hey krissi)))),

glad you got that letter up for domestic violence month.

i'll check out your website and make a copy of it.

i think terrorism is a good word for it. violence only covers the physical aspect of it. terrorism is the day in and day out wearing down of a person's soul. terrorism means you live with fear and that is the abuser's main method of controlling you and bringing you down.

domestic terrorism is a good term.

people need to see how bad it is, not just for the abused, but for everybody who lives in the house.

keep up the good work, krissi*bunch

I Watched The Debate Now I Emailed Obama Many Times With My Letter And In The Debate He Actually Mentioned The Domestic Violence Act And Getting It Changed So I Just Wanted To Say It Made Me Feel Real Good Inside Maybe It Wasn't My Letter But I Would Love To Think So As It Would Really Make Me Feel That I Am Making A Difference I Will Never Know So I Am Just Happy He Is Aware Of This

Now This Isn't A Politics Thing At All Or A Who To Vote For Nothing Like That I Just Wanted To Make A Note That Someone Did Hear What Were Trying To Say Krissi
