I don't have the answer for you, but I can tell you that I sweat alot at night too. My doctor said that it can be caused by medication so maybe that's a good place to start. Sorry to hear about the sweats, they're a real pain in the A$$!! Good luck to you and I will be watching this thread to see if someone else has some better input.

I'm Sorry I don't have any answers for you, though I can sure relate.
I have had this problem for years, I also have it during the day also and it can not only be very disturbing but embarassing. When I started on methadone it became worse in every sense, thing is that methadone has controlled my pain better then any of the meds I have taken in 7yrs..
I'd ck your meds to see if that is a side effect, I have seen many that have had this problem from different meds.

There could be so many things causing you to sweat . Medication , food , harmones . Alot of meds cause sweating . Some food s right before bed mainly chocolate . Check you thyroid

My meds also cause night sweats. For one thing, I always keep my feet sticking out from under the covers. The feet are the thermostat. Another thing I do, even though the air-conditioner is on, is put a box fan in the room to move the air. I do not aim it totally at myself because it can cause headached. That combination has really helped me.

I get them sometimes. Thankfully, not often. At times I will wake and I can tell how far I drenched myself by the line of dried salt on my T-shirt.

Do you take an oral medication for the D.M.? I didn't understand what you meant by Pn. I've found that many people on oral meds for blood sugar sweat a lot, and I mean a lot, like you. Some experts have suggested that it is the process of the blood sugar dropping. First thought is maybe having low blood sugars during the night. But, more commonly, the actual "drop" is the blame rather than the numbers it is in.

Must my thoughts. I worked in a D.M. clinic long time ago and my husband has the same problem with the night sweats.

Hi sorry to hear about your nite sweats. Yes I have them too. dreadful. Huge amounts , I am soaked. I think it is part of rsd. but I dont know for sure. I do not have to be asleep for this to start - I have had my feet and legs just start running with sweat down them , its awful.And I mean pouring off of them. I have cold RSD. So it is really weird. My doctor told me it is the sympathetic nervous system out of whack on body temperature control- it was something dreadful like your bloodcells are actually leaking fluid. Good luck to you- I wanted to add, that no one seems to want to do anything about them medically for me. It's just like, yes, not surprizing. Ya know!

As others said....can be a number of reasons...medication, hormones etc. What are the rest of your blood levels doing? White and red cell count. Sweats also indicate infection....may be a hidden one.

My hubby suffered huge puddles at night (still does)....after 2 years of investigation...found to be suffering Polycythaemia Rubra Vera....a proliferative blood disorder. He sleeps with a towel across his pillow....and a covering beneath the sheet (his side of bed only) that is removed and washed daily.
