Hi All,

I was diagnosed with ADHD year and a 1/2 ago (well always knew something was up, but didn't do anything about it type deals)

Treatment has basically changed my life.. Before I was drifting from one job to the next, never could keep a job (not that I didn't try, I just kept forgetting, or so disorganized I was a lousy employee. :) ) Relationships were a mess, and life was on the fast track to crapstown.. But now I have a good career, house, bills are paid, I complete projects, and i'm on top of things in ways I thought I could never do.. I always thought I was just lazy or something.

I started off on Concerta, but with my insultingly fast metabolism, I quickly maxed out on the dosage, so the doctor switched me to Strettera which I hated due to the side effects. Then it was Adderall XR, then 2 a day.. Then a specialist put me on XR in the morning, and the Aphet salt as "boosters" during the day.

Which worked out great for my concentration, but I was really wired, and it started to exacerbate my stuttering and tendency to talk to fast.. Finally I was placed on a low dosage of Clonidine which was the final key to the puzzle. That "calmed" me down to where I can now actually communicate in a meaningful manner to people..

Though thats the short version.. It involved (and still does) ALOT of trial and error involveing timing of dosages, amount of dosage, and to keep the bad effects down to a manageble level.. Sometimes I still do overstimulate since the XR timing is always different.. And sleep is a problem still at times.. :)

But overall, It's actually gave me the ability to do the things I knew I could.. I just wish I had been able to deal with this a decade ago.. Things would have been so different..

Thanks!

PS, Thank god for my Presciption plan.. 300 bucks for 60 Adderall XR's? My God..

I hope you continue to have positive results.

I have ADHD too, and control the symptoms with caffeine, guarana, and exercise.
