I've scanned over this web site many times, but just never had the time to actually "join" in nor was feeling the need for help.
But now that I've retired and can relax a little inbetween my having to chase off the deer as they love eating my roses and keeping my very busy ER Dr husband "going".
I feel I can add to this "community" now that I've settled into my new roll as "housewife/cook/maid/and jr carpenter (we're building our dream home, part log, part rock/stone)

We don't have any children, by choice (long story, but began with my running away and joining a convent)
That short lived "stint" lasted only till I met my handsome young doctor who was doing rotations in same hospital I was doing services/visitations.
I dropped my "Habit" along with my vows! LoL!
We like to laugh and say "Was a bad habit anyway!"
I do have several nieces and nephews who are now into those troublesome teen years. Oh boy!
Both my brothers live far from us, so is rather lonely living far from civilization and loved ones.
I'm known to all of them as Auntie-Nunsense-Advicery!
I'll drop the formal salutations and just go with MsAdvice.
I'm not really here to give/take advice, but am willing to help those who're honestly seeking help.
I'm not wanting to get any deeper than just casual freindship advice and I'm NOT liberal nor am I prudish.
Maybe somewhere inbetween Dr Laura and Dr Phil.
But I'm not bald headed and am a little "stouter" than Mz Laura!
I am as freindly and warm as Oprah, a little older AND share the same love for dogs, Golden Retrivers I might add.
Its been a very long winter here in the Sierra Foothills, but the rattlesnakes are hibernating, the Scotch broom is ready to bloom and I look foward to spring and the marvelous storms we get this time of year.
With summer comes longer days, more sunlight and sunsets near 8PM giving us lots of time for hammering nails, see'ing saws and whiring of drills, chizzling chizzles as we continue building our dream home.
Its part log and part stone.
We've lots of granite boulders to carry off our little nitch in the forest and the cedars snapping in the wind carrys a fragrance during the warm summer evernings, one won't quickly forget.
As the house cools you can hear creaking of the logs as they settle into their footings.
We've learned not to take this seriously and keep in mind that several inches of walls will eventually align up with the kitchen cabinetry.
My brother directed me to this Brain Talk but asks that we keep this anonimously seperated, ha!
I'm here visiting with him and his family and he urged, OK he begged me to join after I've looked and lurked at this website for long time now.
He tells me is high time I register! I hope once I get home I'll be able to keep logging on and keep my same name here.
We both love to joke, laugh and cajole, but know there are a lot of you out there who face serious and painful issues.
My passion is helping others with such.
Any help I can bring into this is my pleasure.
Is time for me to get some rest. Tomarrow will be a long day!
Long flight home on our 2 seater buzz-bomber! ug!
I look foward to "meeting" some of you, here on line of course!
I'm not one to do private emails and such, but there's always a first time for everything, right?

PS. Like I always say. Life is way too short for bringing into our lives those that cause us pain and upset.
But then also remember that the reason they are the way they are, is our perception and they too must have a burden they're dealing with.
We must be sure we've not done the same or too quick to jump to conclusions and judgment. Remember, we will be judged in the same way we have judged others.
If you have caused someone pain or hurt them in anyway, is time to ask forgiveness, be humble, seek higher advice, then do what is right!
So many relationships ruined all over something so small, so many assumptions, so many wrongs, hardly any rights. Is time for change!
God is watching, God is waiting, God is love and so we must also be.

Welcome MsAdvice, I had to laugh as I used to be MsChief but it was more of a mischief type wording as well as wife of the chief and only woman in the volunteer fire depapartment years ago when I had passed my EMT exams. I went through the usual tests and things that were required for the fire department as well with the exception that I just did not kill myself lifting things if I did not want to.

I enjoyed reading your post and certainly can see why brother asked you to join, you will be great to have as a emeber of our team as well. I look forward to hearing more about your home and just know it all sounds so lovley and it just might be the perfect "spot" to visualise myself in when things elsewhere aren't such a great place at times. Back when I was younger I practically was a resident in the painted desert, lol. I had never seen anything but pictures but it seemed like a wonderful place to be.

Your PS. certainly rang true to me as well. It is sad but there have been times that my own pain has caused such problems that not only have I been hurt but others have been hurt as well. But then it is a wonder when two people in pain got together on the internet in the first place. If differences can't be solved without understanding on both sides and things get said that aren't heard, time to move on, regrettably.

Now I will have to make sure I catch just who Dr. Laura is. There is so many things on tv that does not interest me so this just might be another choice to while away some time. There is always Google as well!
