Hi , My name is Norm , and I've joined to maybe find someone with the same muscle problem as me and mabe get some answers or help answer someone elses problems .

I'm not a medical professional but have been diagnosed with Polymyositis and a couple of the Myopathies since 1966 , so I've had 42 years of being prodded , pushed , try this , try that , Hahaha , as probably most of you have . I hope to learn a little bit more here .

Take Care

Hi Norm,

I Welcome to BT, I had never heard of your disease so I looked it up. Am I correct that it is somewhat an autoimmune disease? The Mayo Clinic had Lupus as a possible connection alomg with a host of other things. There are Forums here for Lupus and other autoimmune diseases. If you scroll down to the actual neurological disorders you will find several of them that may help you or you may be of assistance to others. You sound as though you have a life time of expertise.

Take care,
Kathy

Hi Kathy

Thanks for the welcome , Yes , there are a few different symptoms that "cross over" , one specialist described it like the "Olympic Rings" , thats why I've never been able to get an exact diagnosis after all these years .

I will be reading everything I can get my hands on .

Take Care

Norm

One of the "rings" you might want to investigate is gluten sensitivity. http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/cgi-bin/abstract/113494055/ABSTRACT?CRETRY=1&SRETRY=0 "Myopathy associated with gluten sensitivity".

There is a Gluten Sensitivity/Celiac Disease forum here on Braintalk.
