I am so confused, I have been working 3 days a week since Jan 2007. When it first started, the job was pretty easy and I liked it, because the main reason why I wanted a part time job was to have a few hours a day to myself where I don' t have to think about Jake and his needs. With the first position, by the time I leave office, I didn't have anything on my mind that is work related.

But over time, my boss has moved me to a much more demanding position, and at times very stressful. I find myself more stressed after work because I can't just forget about all that I have to do when I get to work, and people's attitudes, etc.

I just wonder if I should keep going like this? am I going to be burned out soon?

or maybe it is just me? I just can't handle stress like very one else does?

when I left my job back in November these are almost the exact reasons. I let it build up and build up until I went to lunch one day and never went back.

Right now Iam working part time again, totally stress free (just a couple of days a week in the daycare my kids went to when they were little) I am actually looking for another job, but for the time being this is ok.

Anway- if you aren't careful you will be burned out and thats not good either!

I hear you! I also struggle with "burn out" at times and find that about every 18 months I need a change. But I really like to work and think its important for my 'mental health', kwim? It helps to get out of the house and be responsible for things unrelated to being a wife and mother.

Can you talk with your boss about your concerns? Maybe he/she can help rearrange your duties. Most would rather work with you to come up with a solution rather than have to replace you if you quit! Or, is your old position still available? Could you ask to 'step back down'?

yeah, I just had a long conversation with my husband, he also advised me to talk to my boss, I have to do something about the situation.

I don't know what the outcome will be, but one thing I know for sure is that I went to work to balance my life, but if it is doing the opposite, than something has to change.
