View Full Version : Any plans to put archives on line??
Sadly, Braintalk seems to have died or be close to so doing. All would not be lost however if the excellent database of previous discussions that was built from March 2004 until July 2006 was put online. If nothing else it would be a living epitaph. Do any of the moderators know if this is in the works?

I have to agree totally with John about the Archives which one can no longer search. So much valuable information has been lost . It is great to have the site up and running again but it feels like there is something missing....:)

I don't think your question is going to be answered,John.
Which is a shame because there was a lot of good information.

If you posted in forum feedback you might get a shot at an answer, can't say it will be the one that you (or I and everyone else) will want to hear but I know that the mods hang out there and that the second in command (forget his name) does respond and post there as well.
It was bad enough losing the archives from the old forum, the one that was used prior to 2004 but to lose another 3 years of archives is tough.:(
Thanks for the tip, Mataboo. I visited there just now and the same issue was raised a week ago. The following encouraging reply was posted by an administrator:
"I had a chance to talk to John [editing note: Lester] yesterday.
The old vB database seems to be intact. There are plans to make it into a read only forum. I don't know exactly when at the moment however.
John's not going to be "home" until Sun or Mon. Once he gets home hopefully we'll have more specifics to pass out."

Oh boy, sounds like it might be a while but at least it's been mentioned and it's in the works. I think it's completely necessary, not only for the information but for those who have died, it's like their words are gone forever. Although I don't have ALS, I can only assume that you guys have lost some friends because of how rapidly the disease can progress (at times). Anyway, don't mean to intrude, just passing through.
Just a word of advice John, if a period of time passes that you're uncomfortable with and you don't see anything getting done, post another message to FF and perhaps have some of your friends sign it, I certainly will myself. Best of luck to you!!
