Hi all you lovely peeps,

I've been home since Friday night - so doing very well all in all.

I have some pain, but they managed me very well with oxycodone instead of morphine so that was good, and the diet coke helps the anesthesia dolerosa that has been jigged up around my eye - I have a lot of numbness down the V2 and 3 branches - so hard to eat and taste etc - I don't know whether it will wear off or not? I AM having TN pain, and some rather bad, but it's less and to be expected given how much the nerve has been messed with.

My hearing is fine on the op side, little odd on the other, but again, just healing to be done, I still have my clips in though!

Most of the teflon was removed and it was distorting the nerve, which looks healthy and is a good colour - so that's gotta be good. He took some biopsys though to see if there was a granuloma or not.

And best of all - he VIDEO'ED it!! How cool is that! He promised me he's edit it and let me have it! So watch this space ----- literally!

Massive hugs to you all - missed you all.

Tracy - thanks so much for telling them I was ok - love ya!

We missed you, too! SO GOOD to hear from you so soon - and pretty good news already! I'm sure things will continue to improve and will keep up the good thoughts so they do. You "sound" great, but you're always such a trooper! Great to have you back, but take it easy - small steps and don't overdo. Looking forward to your screen debut! :D

Keep up the good work!

Jean:)

Hey Niki,

Glad to hear that you are home. I was told after my MVD that the numbness will go away. I had my surgery on 08/28/06 and so far the numbness has moved across my face. The doc told me it would take at least 2 months if not longer. You will continue to be in my prayers.

Take Care,
Rachel :)

Niki,
So glad to hear all went well with you. It's so good you are home, now you can begin healing. It's so neat they will give you a video of your operation to see, that will be interesting watching knowing you are the one having the operation.
I hope all goes well with your healing process. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Niki,

Great news!!!!:D :)
You already know to take it real easy, so do so! I'm glad to hear that everything went well and the teflons out, and especially that the nerve looks healthy. I've got my eyes, my fingers, and my toes all crossed for you! Eat, relax, watch videos, etc........and let us know when you get the tape.

Big hugs to you, Ellena:)

Amazing! You're done after your long journey. It sounds like the surgeon completed his objectives and his preliminary findings are very possitive. Now a lot of praying, rest and a little luck will do the rest. No horses for a while! ;)

Am stil doing good - typing is hard though! Watched lots of Grey's Anatomy today and the racing - not seen my horses yet so being very restrained!!

Hi Niki, great that you are home and doing well from the sounds of things! Remember to take it slow, let yourself heal! Grey's Anatomy is always good for some laughs! WOuldn't it be cool if Dr. McDreamy did an MVD on the show? I would be so relaxed if it were him doing my surgery... tee hee. Just kidding. I am happily married. Just not dead. Or blind.
