After 6 months of wondering and unanswered questions, we finally have a diagnosis. My husband has a brain aneurysm at his brain stem. The neurosurgeon in Toronto, On will not perform any surgery. He says that it is just too risky. So, my husband remains on a lipid metabolism regulator. No one has told him what to do from here. Obviously his outlook on live is going to change. I wonder do we just wait and see if it will rupture- or will it never rupture. I feel so lost and have so many questions and no answers!

Hi 'wing girl',
Your husbands aneurysm sounds similar to my sisters. Just as irony would have it, her brain injury happened just one month prior to mine. I didn't have an aneurysm of course. They coiled one of her aneurysms and the other was smaller at her brain stem, so they left it alone as it was too risky. She has to be monitored now frequently throughout the year. It is scary the not knowing, 'Will today be the day it ruptures'. We are all stressed out as she is just a baby still at 25 years old. Now my parents have 2 daughters to worry about. All we can do is offer our love and support at this trying time in our lives. Please stay strong for you and your husband. God Bless. I will be praying or you.

sorry to hear about your husband, God is with him. you should go see more doctors, you may find one that has done the surgery with success. I'm sure there is one out there for your husband. There is a doctor at West Jefferson Hospital in Marroe, La. His name is Dr.Colickia, not sure if that is how you spell it. He has done the coil surgery and I think he is one of the best. I'm a RN at a local hospital here and we have sent him some really sick patience and his surgery where a success. Good luck and God be with you. You should put his name on a prayer list at your local church, it will do wounders.

Hi There,

I wanted to welcome you to BT, I am so sorry you had to come here. There are many folks here who are in the same type of situations. If you scroll down the topics page, go back to newcomers the scroll down to the group aneurysms. You will probably find alot of help there. I hope this helps. I have no experience with your husbands situation, I'm sorry. I am a chronic back pain person.

Good luck, ask questions, and if you have problems make sure you ask someone, also the big box on the left of the is has several different posts, the middle section only shows the last posting.

Take care, I will keep your husband in my prayers.
Kathy
