This December I was diagnosed with a 10mm unruptutred basilar tip aneurysm. My symptoms were extreme dizziness and headaches...but mainly real dizzy. Well, as you can see I am still here. They rushed my to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport where they had me waiting FIVE days in ICU running tests and giving me blood thinners. 11coils and 2 stints later...
to make a long story short, I made it thus far. Up until recently I have lived everyday in fear because of this. That is getting somewhat better. BUT soon after I came home 13 days later my hair started to fall out! Now I have this HUGE bald spot on the back of my head and I have a hair appointment so they can cut the sides in someway to where I can still pull it over the bald spot. I have also depression. I cry at the drop of a hat and I hate that. I get tired easily. I have some nerve damage in my left eyelid but so far nothing too bad. I still am not allowed to drive yet...and even if I could, my hair is embarassing me.
I am grateful but they didn't tell me all this...
Thanks for listening to me whine.

Oh yeah, my daughter is having an MRI tomorrow to make sure she doesn't have one.
She has some numbness in one of her legs. I'm 40 and she is 18.
They say more of a precaution. God I hope.

Welcome Liza,I suggest you learn to like hats....seriously,you can't remain inside forever ya know? I hope you continue to improve & I think there's a reason you are still alive-don't you? I'd imagine anyone would be depressed in your situation. And just so you know, you're sure not alone in not being told what to expect after surgery! If they told the truth do you think that would help? Ha
I sure hope your daughter gets a clean MRI. And there will be better days ahead for you.Be kind to yourself, allow your body to heal. And don't hesitate to reach out here for support. We all have health issues or we wouldn't be here on a brain site afterall!
Take care & please continue to post! It actually does help to find cyber friends, and you'll find we all have some common denominators in our lives.

My depression and grief has been rough but I am getting better everyday.
My fear is getting better also. I used to be afraid every other minute and was afraid of being left alone, now I can go for a while by myself.
I have a better memory. I am teaching myself how to remember the important things...:p
I am very glad there is a place like this.
We need each other.

Has your hair come back in?
How did your daughters MRI come out, clean I pray!

I'm just getting my hair back, I had some hair Sewn in it was expensive but lasted long enough for hair to cover the bald spot, now I put it up in little clips using the hair I didnt lose to cover while it slowly grows back. Good luck.
