Hello, Just found this place, wish I had it back in 06!

Cavernous Angioma found in 06 removed. Didn't know surgery can cause seizures down the road, so few years later, AFTER the surgery I'm having problems. I have the surgery part down, can answer those questions. It's the seizure and and scar tissue part I'm learning about now.

Having hard time with headaches and passing out, had a car accident as I blacked out a few weeks back so I can no longer drive. Been a bad few weeks for me. So in my searching I found this site. Very thankful for finding a wealth of information. Well I guess I'll go read up a bunch of stuff!

Hopefully I'll meet up with some people that understand. IT's hard as family do not. They tell you to rest and relax. But they don't get it! IT's not that easy!

Take care!

Hi jorlex :)
I started having seizures in 1990 :( because the MRI missed the brain tumor. Good grief.
I've been diagnosed with epilepsy and taking the meds. Aren't you :) ?
The meds really/maybe can help with those seizures.

I had surgery Feb., 2006 to remove that tumor and again May, 2007 to stop the seizures. I haven't had one since then but I'll be taking the meds for the rest of my life.

You can find lots of friendly help and advice in the Epilepsy Forum right here in Brain Talk. Lots of us have seizures for lots of different reasons.

Wishing you the best

I had seizures in the OR coming out of the anesthesia. It is being managed now by the drug Dilantin. I have not had any seizures since those in the Hospital. Doc sez do an EEG at the 6 month post-op point if if OK I can come off the dilantin.

Are you taking any sort of anti-seizure drug, if not perhaps you should ask your neurosurgeon about it.

I know what you mean about driving, fortunatley you were not injured in the car accident and neither was anyone else. I am in CA and here the standard seems to be supension of driving until you have been siezure free for 6 months and the condition is under control (by report from the doctor).

Yes I forgot to mention the meds! I'm on topamax, what a fun med, being sarcastic there! :D

Sorry you are meds for the rest of your life! Nice to "meet" you!
