Well does anyone know because of the increase of stress on a person with these conditions?
Would a computer hurt the persons life span because of the stress that the computer gives off into a aspergers/autism person?

I have never read or heard of any reason to believe having autism should shorten the life expectancy.

I do believe that stress kills people. I understand Autistic has a "normal" life expectancy.
I read in the papers that someone paid Can $8000 to find out what was his chances to live to 100, the answer was yes, as long as he kept a healthy lifestyle.... and look for the other while driving :D Something that any good card reader could have say for 20 bucks
If you are stressed out because of your condition I do not know what to tell you. I don't know how bad is your situation and how your quality of life is affected by your condition. The only thing I can tell you for what I have seen is that drugs complicates the autistic condition, reduce the quality in their lives and shorten their lives.

Along the lines of stress, I would think if stress shortens your life so does being on the spectrum, maybe more so - loving someone on the spectrum. I'm not sure which is more stressful. This is presuming overall there is more of a stressload with being on the spectrum than being nt. So, it's hard to say. It could be a wash I suppose.
But from what I've 'read' there's no difference in life expectancy. Then again when I first started reading this type of thing, I read autism was 1 in 10,000. Ya know?
So basically, I'm not answering am I...so personally I believe yes there would be a shorter life expectancy not only from stress but from all the drugs so often given.
Then again, there's a good chance you won't drink or smoke assuming you are very effected by autism...so I guess I'm back to not giving an answer really.

I remember about ten years ago being on a board where this was a big topic, since a number of us knew of several children who shared the autism dx and had died young. It seemed to be seizure related, and I came to suspect it was chiari related. My friends son passed suddenly at 21, which was also seizure/and chiari related.
Never heard of a computer giving off stress... would think it may have the opposite effect (reduce stress) since it offers an alternative (and more pleasant) form of communication.

Chiari malformations (CMs) are structural defects in the cerebellum, the part of the brain that controls balance. When the indented bony space at the lower rear of the skull is smaller than normal, the cerebellum and brainstem can be pushed downward. The resulting pressure on the cerebellum can block the flow of cerebrospinal fluid (the liquid that surrounds and protects the brain and spinal cord) and can cause a range of symptoms including dizziness, muscle weakness, numbness, vision problems, headache, and problems with balance and coordination. There are three primary types of CM. The most common is Type I, which may not cause symptoms and is often found by accident during an examination for another condition. Type II (also called Arnold-Chiari malformation) is usually accompanied by a myelomeningocele-a form of spina bifida that occurs when the spinal canal and backbone do not close before birth, causing the spinal cord to protrude through an opening in the back. This can cause partial or complete paralysis below the spinal opening. Type III is the most serious form of CM, and causes severe neurological defects. Other conditions sometimes associated with CM include hydrocephalus, syringomyelia, and spinal curvature.
There are many ways to treat Chiari malformations, but all require surgery. The basic operation is one of uncrowding the area at the base of the cerebellum where it is pushing against the brainstem and spinal cord. This is done by removing a small portion of bone at the base of the skull deep to the neck muscles as well as often removing a part of the back of the first and occasionally additional spinal column segments. The operation is often modified if there is a syrinx present or if the child has hydrocephalus. Most children who have the surgery do quite well and have an improvement in their symptoms.
Good point, not using ones head and being on the computer just your eyes. Putting more pressure on your brain because autism/aspergers have large frontal lobes. He died at the age of 21 because of this?
The flashing of the screen and such, it seems since ive had this eye lift surgery it had helped because I was using less of my head because my eyes try to overcompesent for the drooping.
I just hope my eyes dont go back to the point of before. The doctor says that that touching them has no effect but someone with aspergers/autism where your always scraping downwards you have very strong strength. Because the pressure it takes to relief stress on ones body with autism/aspergers.
So i was just curious and I think if one doesnt use his head while being on the computer it wil lead to more stress especially one with drooping eyelids, thankfullly I got them fixed, but it seems as if I drop my head down and look back up fast I will see a white gaze in my eyes. Its either aspergers or hydrocephlus who knows.

If this happens to you a lot, especially if you're "losing time," you're probably having minor seizure activity. Please talk to your doctor about getting checked out.

Not sure if I understand what your question is... but yes he died of a chiari malformation and he was 21. That was before decompression surgery was available. Surgery for decompression has been around since about 93, this happened in 84.
I know of a few other children with acm that also passed, although not personally, but from being members of boards where their parents frequented.
