My 42 year old sister will be having surgery in the middle of her head. She just had the angiogram today. I am scared for her. The doctor said he will put a coil in, but in order to keep the coil in, he must put a shunt in her artery to hold teh coil in place. Does this sound right? I lost my other sister at the age of 43 due to a blood clot from the leg to the lungs. I am terrified for her. And for me. I will be 40 this year and so far, this is not looking good. Please explain to me the seriousness of surgery. They said her anuerysm is at 4 mm. She is in Florida and has been since Thanksgiving. I really hope there are good doctors there! Someone please shed some light on this for me and what to expect. Thank you!
