In a case against lethal injections being considered by the Supreme Court, a lawyer representing prisoners stated that if the first injection didn't work like it is supposed to the prisoner would suffer unimaginable pain for several minutes until they died.
First I thought, does this guy know the pain that many of us go through and then why are they worried about a few minutes of pain when we would give almost anything to only have pain for a few minutes. I know the lawyer didn't mean anything by it but it struck me the wrong way.

Mark,
I had been watching the news when this report came on, and the first thing that came to my mind was "what?...ummm, they are being put to death!, I'm sure the pain they inflicted on victims and their families was far worse than what they are experiencing for those few minutes!"

have to say I agree with both Mark and slip on this.
While I do have a concern about innocent people being put to death (now that DNA is available, its turning out that there is a fair number of these folks in the prison system), I do not have sympathy for people who commit horrific murders.
I think its unfortunate though that it costs more to execute these people than keep them in prison for life.
There are no easy answers with this particular topic, that is for sure.
i firmly beleive any pain these people may or may not go thru being put to death is something they had coming in the first place , just imagine the unimaginable pain they caused the people they hurt / killed themselves so i say on with it !!!! let them suffer for a short while as they made there victoms suffer !!! i know this sounds vengful but i have a tyhing about kilers or people that beat others to hurt them specialy when a "man" hits or otherwise hurts a woman , it just appalls me ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Dave ,,,,,,,,,,, aka,,,,,,,,,,,,,911

It is much more expensive to "house" them for life than to put them out of society's misery...

Steve - with all the appeals and stuff, I have heard it is more expensive to eventually put someone to death.
Here is one website that has a few statistics on this topic:
