What test was everyone's diagnosis based on? IE: Tensilon, Mestinon, SFEMG, EMG, AChR, Anti-MuSK, clinical evaluation, etc.
Has anyone ever had elevated CPK (Creatine Kinease) or low Potassium?

Originally I was diagnosed with a positive blood test by my primary doctor who referred me to a neurologist who confirmed the diagnosis with another blood test. He referred me to a MG specialist who said I was fine and eventually I went to Mayo Clinic and they confirmed the diagnosis with blood tests and a SFEMG.

My diagnosis was based on a SFEMG.

My diagnosis was based on the Tensilon test as well as clinical evaluation by an opthoneurologist.

Mine was diagnosed by a neurologist with a positive AchR test. I guess I'm fortunate in that I have never had a neurologist question my diagnosis after the initial positive blood test.

I was diagnosed by an MG specialist with a postive Tensilon and strength tests. I have since been "undiagnosed" by 2 other neuros (not MG specialists) because I'm seronegative and negative EMG. Needless to say, I cling to the original diagnosis.

Hi Vicki,
Nice to see you found a forum in the US, too. Anyway, I had elevated CPK when I was working, but it went back to normal when I quit being physically active, of course. I had an EMG, MuSK, AChR, thyroid and adrenal scans, MRIs, Cat scans, all negative, but no Tensilon, SFEMG, or Mestinon trial. I also do not have a confirmed diagnosis, nor do I have a good doctor yet. I am going to see a pulmonologist 10/31, and a local neuro that I saw 8 years ago 11/8. I had to get a job, and I know I can't work in this condition, so hopefully I can convince someone to treat me. Has your son seen a pulmonologist?
