Just after I stopping taking Imuran for my Myasthenia Gravis because of low blood platelet, anemia, severe a low white count. I started having severe joint pains all over especially down my spine. After a few weeks the pain started to ease. Then one morning I awoke with this pulsing vibration, more strongly in my spine and legs. This has been going on for 3 months now. My neuro surgeon believes it is the MG. My neurologist says it is central nervous and brainstem related. My neurologist thought I might have had a brainstem stroke but a CT scan did not confirm this. Over the last 6 years I have had 4 neuro surgeries on my neck for severe spinal stenosis. I also have a Medtronics Neuro stimulator implanted on the dura at C-4 to C-7 level of my neck for pain control. Here is the results from my last Myelogram. There is Facet Arthropathy with narrowed Left C-3 Neuro Foramen. Mild spondylosis at C-3 - C-4. There is mild narrowing at C-3.

Please can anyone explain this vibration. I am not getting much sleep or rest the constant pulsing vibration keeps me awake. I feel exhasted! The best way for me to discribe the sensation is that it feels like having a tens unit running constantly down my spine and legs.

Any advice or direction and guidance you give will greatly be appreciated.

Nev57,

I used to get this and I remember that a heating pad, the hotter the better, would stop the vibrating feeling. Try laying on multiple heating pads for the most relief. And avoid anything that vibrates ...

I'm sorry I'm not familiar with your surgeries, but since I am familiar with this symptom, I wanted to mention that my nuero problems turned out to be from eating gluten. I don't get this feeling anymore. (I have a list of nuero symptoms that have disappeared ) Doctors, ugh !!!!

I was evaluated for MG in 1992 and determined to have Fibromyalgia instead. Unfortunately, no one looked for celiac.

Wish I could be more help ... Marcia
