I'm just introducing myself

Hi everyone! I am a recreational therapist who works with people who have had brain injuries. I work on an inpatient rehab unit at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH. I joined this forum to try to understand how BI affects people and to hopefully become a better therapist as a result of this understanding.:)

i'm not familiar with the work that recreational therapists do. i think it's the recreational part that's puzzling. perhaps you could elaborate?

Hi! Welcome :)

I'm familiar with recreational therapy as I enjoyed two weeks of this type of help when I was an inpatient in a rehab hospital.
I remember being taken on outings, either to Starbucks(lol) or just a drive around the city, visiting the parks. One of my favorite things to do was visiting the computer lab where they had me doing some waking the brain type games.
