I don't want to offend anyone who dosen't celebrate, but I wanted to do a check in and it is the Holiday Season!!*candycane
Well I've never left shopping to the last minute in my life but I do have to pick a couple of things up today. I'm afraid of just how bad those crowds will be, LOL!! I guess I will find out shortly and I will report back to all of you.;)
The real reason for this post is to thank all of you for the kindness you've shown me. The reason I keep being a part of BT is because everyone on here is so caring and willing to help in anyway possible. I've ask lots of questions over the last several years and I always get heart felt responses from people who know exactly what I'm talking about.
CP is such a difficult thing to deal with and it affects so many parts of our lives, but being a part of this forum makes it bearable.
Thanks To You All!!
Merry Christmas from the bottom of my heart!!*hug

Have a good day shopping. I have out turkey in the oven as we have presents and dinner on Christmas eve and focus on family Christmas day.
I am doing okay and I won't let anything interfere with the fun tonight and tomorrow even if I pay a big price for several days after.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Mark,
Sounds like you will have a wonderful dinner tonight and more importantly that your family will spend it together.
I owe you a special thanks for the many times that you've talked me through some tough times.
Mark you're the person on this board that always responds even if you don't know the answer but you always let the person know that someone is listening. Thank you for your continued support and I wish you and your family a Very Merry Christmas!!

Lisa, Mark and Everyone Here,
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
And, Lisa, I bet you got some bargains today. :)
As for myself, my husband's son just stopped by. He has been in India for a year working for Deloitte and Touche; has another year to go. But he looked great! My daughter and her boyfriend are coming over later and then we will all go to my mom's to exchange with her. Tomorrow...I will be going over to my niece's for dinner. So, really, I haven't had much to other than I have to bake one thing tomorrow. But that's it. :)
AND...my husband came home with a new vehicle yesterday LOL! Long story and a funny one...but for now I will say...LOVE the heated seats!
Have a great Christmas Eve and Christmas Day everyone!

Lisa, thanks for the kind words. You and others here give me more than I can say. If I didn't have this site and the people here I would be very isolated and I am very thankful for all of you.

Thank you all for responding to my posts, explaining things I do't understand. Please continue since I am new and don't know the most efficient ways of doing things. I think the posters at BT are some of the bravest, wisest, kindest people I have ever met, and am proud to tell you that this is the first and only bulletin board I have ever used.
The people who respond to posts, and the heroes who try to make sure that every question gets a thoughtful and caring answer (like Mark and others) are really making a difference in this world, and are at least as important as any president or CEO!
Merry Christmas or whatever we can think of to celebrate!

Kathi, have a great time with your family and enjoy only making one dish this Christmas. Yes the heated seats feel great on our backs and backsides:) while on a trip.

I am making key lime pie for dinner tomorrow and it took me three separate grocery trips to the store today to get everything I needed.
Amazingly enough, I have had very low pain levels today -- it is so unpredictable. I get one of these every once and a while. I actually took my Ipod and went for a walk around the block. That is a big accomplishment for me, physically. It is very cold but sunny out where I live, so it was nice to get some fresh air.
Happy Holidays to Everyone at BT!

Thanks to all who replied and I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!!
Our family had a nice day and enjoyed eating a nice dinner with my DH family. No gifts were exchanged but instead we just spent quality time with the family.

Busy, busy busy. Somehow pulled off getting everything together. Someone anonymously gave our pastor money to give to us for Christmas, so the kids were excited Christmas morning. Pain levels high, but Christmas day, for the most part, pain wasn't too bad! What a gift. Spent time the hub's side of family who are actually not crazy!! I just love them all....Fell in love with husband all over again, kids are great....Sometimes just spending a little time with the ones that love us is all we need.
((((hugs)))) and thanks for you all!

Happy Holidays everyone! A belated merry christmas to all those who celebrate it, and an even more belated happy hanukah to all of our Jewish members! I was very surprised to see that hanukah fell so early in the month. Honestly, I kind of missed it because it was so early. I've never seen it so early and ended up having to call my best friend and apologize for not calling and wishing her a good week simply because I didn't realize it was so early!!
Christmas here was one of the best I've had in a long time. It was a little difficult emotionally, as Christmas day was the 10 year anniversary of my father's father's death (he finally passed after a two + years battle against lung cancer at about 4:30 p.m. christmas day in 1997. It was really hard, as he was the first person close to me to pass away, but at the same time, we were all happy that his suffering was over. So christmas remains a bittersweet holiday.). But the day went really well. Unfortunately, we didn't actually end up having our tree up and even half-decorated until the 24th, and it still isn't even done. It's a classic move in this house! I remember years in the past when my mom has stayed up late trying to get the tree decorated for christmas morning, so it's not completely out of the ordinary for my family!
My parents and I did our immediate family presents in the morning, like we always have done, but this was the first year that my older brother and his girlfriend weren't there. They had to be at her family's gathering on christmas morning, so they came for our annual christmas eve seafood dinner and opened all of their gifts then. And then we got to trek down to my aunt's house in Pennsylvania. It's always neat to go there for christmas because she lives practically next door to where George Washington and his troops crossed the Delaware for the battle of Trenton I believe on Christmas. They re-enact it every year (the boats had some issues this year due to a really strong sudden current and none were able to get across, so it was a bit different than usual!). It's really neat to see.
I actually got almost everything I had wished for, and even things I had wanted, but didn't ask for because they were too expensive. I finally got a GPS, something I've been drooling over for years. Mom surprised me with it. I started screaming because it was such a great surprise! I also got an awesome monitor, finally, for my laptop (the LCD backlight had burnt out and I couldn't find someone reputable to fix it and am really nervous about doing it myself. So I've been sharing mom's laptop, made difficult since she needs it practically all the time, which is one of the reasons I haven't been able to post much lately.
Everyone who I bought gifts for loved them. That's my favorite part of the holidays. There's something just so heartwarming when a person opens a gift I've given them and that look comes over their face saying "this is perfect" or "how did you guess I needed/wanted this," or "you are the best!" That's the thing I LOVE about the holidays. I like getting gifts, don't get me wrong, but I love giving them more.
So, while it was a busy one, it was an alltogether great holiday. The only damper was that my father is sick with what I had almost three weeks ago, mom is still recovering from that and has done something to her neck to the point where she has been unable to use her left hand at all. Needless to say, that's got me really worried. Oh, and she managed to get second degree burns on that hand when she picked up a hot pot (it was lefton the stove while we ate dinner, but my father had stupidly left the burner on underneath it, so while it looked cool, it was very toasty!). That, and it seems like the plague I gave everyone else is back with me. My chest is so congested and the cough I was just about done with it back but worse. Ugh. Thank goodness I have this week off from work.
That's about it from this front. It's getting to be really late and I have a few more things to do online before I can get to bed tonight (I'm hoping to be done and in bed by 4 a.m., about 2 hours earlier than I have the past few nights). I hope that any residual pain spikes related to the holidays are on their way out!! And that you all had a great celebration!!
well, I am still living and breathing ((i think?)) I was just glad when they all went home. i love my family but when you are not well it is hard to even carry on a conversation.
My family all have "ISSUES", the kind you want them to leave at home. I didn't invite my EX-HUB to dinner!! I want them to leave him where ever, just not in my house!!
You would think after 30 yrs. they would have worked on things to deal with him, he IS a real SOB, always have been and always will be. So, he is not part of MY life, stop dragging him over to MY house!
Gads, where did THAT come from?? Well, tis the truth so they need to put that one to bed too.
Otherwise I had a good Christmas. I hope all others did too. On my way to PM, it's raining again and I hate to drive in rain.
take care all, Jo
