I'm wondering about the name of this forum....

"The Word".

I'm wondering if this really is the "right name".

I have to admit, I just picked this name out of thin air...

Any suggestions for an appropiate new name for this forum may be mulled over here, and we can put up a poll to finalize it.

Do you ever wonder where or how people came up with the names we use on forums.
I'm curious about others names, and the story behind the pictures used for their avitar.
Here's my story...if anyone wants to know.
My initials are CRY....I've often wondered why one could have such a name thats so sad. My entire life story is nothing BUT sad.
I have spent my entire life crying over being betrayed and abandoned by those who should have loved and cared about me but didn't.
But one day I saw the name Tears....was her middle name.
So I played around with the letters came up with this.
My middle name IS Rae....my moms little brother is Ray...
If you take my name, add the T a cross and S for the Savior.
In the middle of my life, listen and hear with my ear....rae...
what the cross means to me...and what the Savior has done for me.
So you get CryTears for my name.
The avitar or picture by my name is a kitty named Mittie...she was a living dolly of a cat...my granddaughter would dress and play with her for hours.
Mittie would sit in the dolly bed or chairs was put in.
She was the smartest and most perfect cat ever was...then one day
a coyote came lurking...its been over 2 years now and we still miss her.
So I use her picture of her wearing a baby bonnet and pink bib.
Anyway...thats in my name...CryTears!

What I understand you to mean these forums should be seperated?
Split them: One for visual arts...drawings, paintings, sketchings.
The other for writtings/poems/stories/words. Call creative writtings
Is that what you're meaning? I think is good idea.
I guess I got really mixed up here...am having hard time right now, holidays weighing heavy on me now...sigh...

My Puzzle

My puzzle is a big one that is going to take a long time
Started two years ago, so dawdling time has gone bye
For a long time now seems life has no reason or rhyme
Know I have a long way to go and God knows I do try

This puzzle that my life has become, trying to fit them
So many pieces to try to put in to just the right places
You can’t understand what it is like to start over again
The pain is enough and it leaves behinds it’s own traces

The puzzle is learning how to put all of the pieces back
There’s too many pieces and many obstacles in my way
Too many pills, test and Dr.‘s for me to even keep track
Miss my life I once had before the puzzle came into play

My puzzle, an aneurysm in my head, pieces I can’t find
Know I have a ways to go, I’ll put it together some day?
Looking for the ones that fit that give me peace of mind
I need to find the ones, that will guide me the right way

The puzzle has affected everyone I’m not who I use to be
I wish I could take all the burden off the ones that I love
They all pick up the pieces and hand each of them to me
Saved and watched out by the “Big Guy” from up above

This puzzle that God has given to me for some reason?
I have to put it together, until I am completely finished
Just tired of watching from inside, the changing seasons
Know all I have is time, will play until the pieces diminish

Well, I was envisioning this forum for all writen forms of creativity...

Poems, Prose, Word games, even word puzzles come to mind...

We'll put them in this Sub-forum. Who knows, the name may remain the same...

I'm sure that puzzling the mind in creative ways with words must be "theraputic". At least it is fun and diverting....heh

yes i like very much the puzzle as a symbolysm after a neurologic challenge .It is really peaces here and there and somehow the configuration part must be re-arrange by us with Time and PATIENCE and LOVE ...and SELF DETERMINATION ....and Faith.....We re-invent another self somehow with new coping skills.....and that alone is a wonderful gift.

I'd like to suggest to reword it (why not also reward it... lol)... 'Written Art'...
to match with 'Graphic Art'
As well, another sub-forum could be created for musical, vocal and other audible forms of art, maybe 'Audible Art'... :p

Therefore, someone who would create a bi/tri-dimentional work of art, like a poem going along with a painting and/or music would be the one to chose... where to show her/his art...

Oh! How GREAT is it to have room to be able to express ourselves creatively ! WOW !

that's my favorite of those i thought of... others were:

Word Play
Verbal Meanderings

Fun with Words (more mundane)
Words on Words (title of a poem of mine. hah. i should post it. if i find it. it's old.)

and, in my own private folders. the folder where i keep "STUFF" i write, of no particular restricted form... couplets, bits of prose, prose/poem combos, punny stuff, humorous compilations... and of course full poems and songs that haven't been "html'd yet...

well that folder is simply called (ready for booring ... but covers all?)
writings. all lower case.

But i still like Words at Play the best.
