HI all
I just found this site yesterday. Didn't think there was another neurological site I had not seen!!
I usually use HW site.
I am a 51 yr lesbian.
I have DDD in cervical spine. Have had 2 surgeries.
Now experiencing lots of neuropathy in both arms and hands.
MRI shows osteophytes again in 2 spots.
Trying to control pain with meds.
I cannot take opioids due to bad adverse reactions.
Looking forward to meeting you all.
Oh I live in BC Canada.

Hi Tiggers -
Welcome...This is a pretty slow spot on this site but I am glad you found your way here. I have Myasthenia Gravis, take lots of medications and have always wanted to live in British Columbia - some of my favorite authors and musicians call BC home...

My uncle has the same thing you do. Sure is not an easy thing to live with!!
I have noticed that this is a really slow forum. I wonder why?
We do have alot of artsy people here in BC, it is a great place to live.

Hi, Tiggers...welcome to BrainTalk!
To answer your question, the LGBT forum was started back before BT crashed and was down for several months. We had a long request thread with many posters asking the mods to set up the forum, which they very kindly did.
Many of the members who wanted the forum didn't return to BT after the hiatus, and now there's not much activity. I try to check in now and then to greet new posters, but I'm not around BT much myself any more.

Tiggers,
Welcome to the site. Although it looks like I’m a new member, this is the 3rd time I’ve joined, using the same name.
I stopped visiting the site because I felt I didn’t have anything in common with other members, being a gay male. I was looking to find others in a similar situation. I could handle my disease, but not the crap from my a**hole partner of 15 years (we finally split up 3 months ago, yeah!). I’m now in remission and Dumba** is gone, but I expect to come up against issues as I start to date again.
I sure wish the LGBT site was here when I first joined many years ago.
Jim
To Fastlane: Dallas, TX here too.
To Maxs9th: Myasthenia Gravis too.

Thanks Jim
I am sure it is difficult having a relationship end, however if it was a bad one then it is good to move on.
This forum is really slow...........
we need to take control and talk more in here.
It is wonderful you are in remission, (you don't say what you have however). Hopefully you remain that way for a long time.
Get strong and as healthy as you can.
OH I see you have Myasthenia Gravis. Sorry my memory is bad from one minute to another I forget things. LOL
My uncle has that too.
Hope to talk again soon.

Tig,
The only problem with the end of the relationship is the division of property. The love was gone years ago, we stayed together for the sake of our elderly cat! LOL
I was dx’d with Myasthenia Gravis (MG) about 10 years ago. Prednisone has taken its toll on my body, cataract surgery, osteoarthritis, etc. I’ve had about 5 surgeries and have had so many CT, MRI and PET scans that I should glow in the dark. Today I only take a low dose antidepressant and a multi-vitamin. As you know, that could all change in a heartbeat, knock wood.
I looked up myofascial pain and your surgeries, yikes! Were the surgeries successful for you? MG only hurts when your muscles fail and you drop something on your foot. I took gabapentin when I had Shingles and I found it useless. I hope it works for you since opiates are out.
Take care,
Jim
(BTW, I’m 47)
Hi tiggers,
My name is Phil. I am a 48 year old gay man. I am in the states (Illinois). I used to post a lot on the old forums but now prefer to mostly read. I thought since this is "our" forum I would stop by and say hello. I have also developed problems with my back. I have the report around here somewhere. I am on the patch and oxycodone for breakthrough pain.
I am considered disabled and do not work anymore. I would love to work but just can't. It's just me and my kitty (Samantha) who of course is my child. Welcome again!! (((tiggers))) I have not been out in a very long time but some of my very best friends are gay woman!!
Hello Gabriel. It is very nice to meet you!! I did not know what Myasthenia Gravis was so I looked it up last night. It sure doesn't sound very nice. You mention you take lots of medication. I sure hope this isn't to painful for you and that you are able to lead as normal a life as possible.
Hello graymalkin,
If I remember correctly, you have a blog. I remember all of 2 minutes so I may be thinking of someone else. It's nice to meet you also. I really like your Avatar!!
Hi fastlane,
Very nice to meet you also. I'm just curious. When your lover fell through the stairs, did the stairs give way or something? It sounds just horrible!! You have MS, huh? I already know your a brave person. You have to be with something like that. I need to post and tell all about myself also.
Hello Jim,
Nice to meet you as well. If he was an *******, I'm glad you got away from him!! I think we, as a class of people, put up with way to much shi* anyway!!

Hi Tiggers. I'm Daniel and I've been around Braintalk for a few years. I'm a 34 year old gay male college student (35 in a couple weeks.) I'm glad you found us and hope you will feel most welcome. Sorry I'm late in welcoming you, but my old computer decided it didn't like Braintalk or other similar things (I guess it was the JAVA, but who knows...it was an ancient beast of a machine) and now I have a new computer that runs it wonderfully. I'm glad to be back amongst you all and glad to welcome a new member. :)
Much Love to all *hug
Namaste,
Daniel
