I've tried to post in one of the forums a couple of times. I had one almost finished and I hit a couple of wrong keys and the message disappeared. This time I hit the tab key and the cursor disappeared so I backspaced (thinking this is like a word processor, silly me) and the message disappeared. I looked in the forum and my post wasn't there, so it didn't get submitted.

Can someone tell me how to prevent this sort of thing from happening again. What keys should I avoid hitting. I'll just have to slow down. Never thought that typing as fast as I do would be a disadvantage :D

Hello and welcome to BrainTalk :)

A lot of members use notepad or word when typing a long post. Then they copy it and paste it into a reply or new thread here :)

Mike makes a good suggestion.

I've got Windows ME and I've discovered that the [page-forward] and [page-back] keys that are located right near the arrow keys usually blow away my messages.

Thanks both of you, great suggestion. I'm using WinXP, but I'm sure something like what you described happened to me, since the messages got blown away when I was trying to fix them up before posting.

Barb, I remember you from the MGH spinal disorders forum and glad to see a familiar name here. I also recall that you were always helpful to people with computer stuff.
