Husband has side effects percocet

Wow, I know I am being totally selfish saying this (or at least feel this way), but my husband has just gone back on percocet for deep nerve pain after just having finished withdrawal, and I am thrown for a loop. He was off of it because the doctor made a mistake in writing the rx for the right date. Then, because of that, not enough of the drug was in his urine. So, he had to take a new one, and that took almost *two weeks* to get the result. All that time, he had none at all for his deep nerve pain. So, I guess he was just finishing withdrawal when he got it? He seems even higher now than he was before. I know he is the one going through the physical side effects. I've been fairly patient, but today, I just went off on him, and was a total *****.
I guess what I'm asking doesn't make sense? How can I be more understanding? I"m really trying!
