I don't know if anyone remembers, but Carly learning to point was this huge point of contention (sorry for the pun) between the behaviorist and the school.

So, we've been working on pointing. She's not doing it herself, entirely, but she has the idea and is making progress. She holds her hand in a fist and gives me her hand. I hold down all but the index finger. Then she stretches it out and together we point at something (usually food on her plate). She cooperates and doesn't pull her hand away. She even wags her finger up and down a bit when we do it.

Chalk up one for the behaviorist and for Carly!

YAY!! She'll get there! That's how Jake first started last year. You had to hold his fingers down, but he got it and now points at everything by himself.

Good for her!

pointing was a huge milestone for Jake as well, he used to point with his whole fist, but now he can isolate his index finger on the right hand and point to everything ...

Good job, Carly!!!

All right Carly! Tom really hasn't been pointing long, either. Now we need to work on V for victory.
