In light of some recent posts, I decided to try to look around and see if there really was a way to block posts so I don't have to read them.
And, even though I am "computer challenged" I finally found it and you really can type in someone's user name onto your ignore list. Then I checked it and when you get to a post written by this person, you see nothing except this post is hidden because "username" is on your ignore list!
Maybe everyone already knows about this but I just wanted to share the info because it is very nice not to have to read it!:)

Awe, now you're taking the sport out of the whole thing! :D
We all know that everything we read here is just someone's opinion/interpretation of information, and that so far, even the doctors and researchers don't know what the answers are for this disease.
I surely hope that if I tell people to jump off a bridge, they are at least going to have the common sense to decide if this is a good option for them. :p
If it wasn't for the freedom to state our experiences and to provide our slant on research information here (or on other boards), many of us wouldn't even be taking some of the mainstream drugs, let alone trying alternate options we've had opportunity to hear about.
Yes, we can put people on ignore, but I don't think that's what the people who don't like certain types of postings would WANT to do. That would take all the fun out of debating/challenging someone else's point of view. :)

Yes, the ignore list has been around for a long time. But then, I don't know why I'm responding, as I'm probably on yours already.. :)

I must agree with others... freedom of speech is important and I intend to use mine to the fullest. But I see what you are saying... and thks for taking the time to research this feature. I am now challenged to see how fast I can get others to ignore me, if they hven't already! :D

Hi folks,
While I support freedom of speech, I also support the right of people not to listen. There are people on this board that I feel are extremely self absorbed and have very little to offer. I prefer not to read anything that they write.
I don't use the block list - I just jump over anything they post. However, the block list is another way of doing that.
I just wish they have a "preferred list" that informs me whenever Mark or Cat post something (especially when Cat reminds someone that they are being silly).

There is a thread here.... I see nothing. Hmmm.
Just kidding. I appreciate the alternative therapies... even though some are off the wall to me..... coral calcium for example. I have the brains (I think) to determine if they seem logical. Of course, I prefer to think outside the box.
I think there are relatively simple explanations to these diseases called MS..... but scientists often do not think outside the money box (for a multitude of reasons).
With that said, I am on a traditional treatment plan (copaxone) for MS. I still think there is a 'Wow, I could've had a V-8' moment coming. I HOPE.
This is a free country..... so bring on all theories... for those who choose to ignore, more power to you.

Hi SalpalSally,
I don't play as much these days. I lost some of the dexterity in my left hand after my first flare back in '95 and a bit of feeling in the right fingers in '98. Most of my playing is at home although I have played at some weddings and memorial services (as some forum members can attest).
I did buy a new harp in Ireland last summer although I still play the first harp I purchased in '85. Our Jack Russell, Dancer, prefers the harp to the accordian. Go figure....

Yeah, I suppose I was a bit cranky when I wrote this! Oh well, blame it on MS like everything else!!
never would I ignore yours Cat...I like a good debate!:) plus you are a straight shooter.
Anyway, you know what else I found? There is a buddy list. I wonder if that is like what you are saying, Harpist? So maybe I'll try that and see what happens.
Just a whiz at this computer stuff , huh?

OK, I added "buddies" so now will wait and see what happens, if there is some type of notice when they post!
And...I'm not telling who you are but know that there is someone watching you...;)

<This person is on your ignore list>
Ok well maybe I am not as funny as I think I am (a legend in my own mind). I would think most people want to be liked. And I am no exception. I would hope that I am not on anyone ignore list. And there is no one on mine. Over the years there have been a few that I have thought about doing just that.
We have a wide variety of folks here and with that come a wide variety of opinions. And of course there are bound to be clashes. I usually dont get into the more controversial threads I just dont see the point. We do have a couple of folks that I purposely do not read their posts as can never understand what they are trying to get from BT . I have made some great friends here and with some we correspond via e-mail, snail mail and telephone. It has been a great comfort to me to know that if, something goes sideways in my life I can shoot off an e-mail and get an answer right away.
I guess that people are here for different reasons I know I have MS. I know it isn't going to go way and I know it is getting worse. I come here to see what other people are doing , how they are doing and ever the optimist, to see if anything has change on the medical front.
After all these years I come here to get a laugh
