Okay, now I know that cats are usually the mousers but I know that dogs are instinctually inclined to chase mice and often catch. Well the wonderful little pom that we got in September is sitting in the middle of my dining room floor casually watching my newest household addition run along the baseboard and not even batting an eye :eek::). Gosh some deterrent he is :D. Guess I will definitely have to wait for the brave mousie to find the trap. I have to be real careful where I put them thanks to my pom, he likes peanut butter too :D.

my grandma used to breed poms to sell. this was back in the early 60's when i was child. her female was named ginger and she was so sweet.
they are such small dogs, maybe he thinks the mouse will come out and play with him :).
glad your thanksgiving was pretty good. now if only christmas shapes up better!
counting the days until then,

so buttons and I aren't the only ones with mices eh? I had a very brave one that had the nerve to keep prancing fast thru my home too. I hope he like the posion. My dog is a big one and I'm hoping he will not bother the posion. He is too lazy really.
Your little doggies sounds so lovable.

We have tons of cats, I think that we are feeding them too much!;) ! This year the mice have been bad. Living in the country, we always get a few but thius year we get rid of 2 and 2 more come in to take their place! I hate mose traps but they work. I don't like to use poison due to the thought of them dying and not being able to find them:eek: .
I am in hopes that they will soon all be irradicated! I may have to get some better cats, the ones we have now fight over who gets the mouse after we catch them!;) .

Just a word of caution as you try to kill off the mice. Little dog,Pepper, spent 3 days at the vet-not sure if from D-con or old age? When you put out D-Con the mice have to seek water, this leaves them in a vulnerable position to get eaten by our cats & dogs. We found a headless mouse in the driveway just prior to rushing Pepper to the vet (internal bleeding & seizures).Pepper is too old to have spent lots of $$ on testing so vet just guessed @ possibilities & put her on vit K (to thicken her blood),and gave her a steroid shot while @ clinic. We thought she was a goner! That was 12 days ago, she's now going between active & practically comatose....
Pepper loved to kill mice! She could get one faster than the cat even!
I went around & collected all the D-Con we had put out, every single container was empty! So I know we killed alot of mice in just 24 hrs! Also, the hawks & other birds might just eat these mice.....from now on it's mouse traps here even though I hate seeing the dead mice-better than a dead pet!
Had used D-Con for years, but never again! Not worth it. Joy,it won't matter that Meaness cannot get into the rat poison,if the mouse comes out seeking water & your dog decided it's an easy meal then wham!
And no matter how well fed a pet is,the chase & excitement of killing a critter is what they care about. Some cats make better mousers. My tabby kills everything she can get. However......she's been known to bring live mice in to play with! Then they build nests! More live toys!
If you suspect your pet has been D-Conned,get to the vet ASAP. Pepper first vomited, then got very lethargic, wouldn't even lift her head on trip to vet. She spent 3 days there fighting for her life! Had we not seen the headless mouse we probably would have just figured old age had taken it's toll-Pepper is about 15 yr old.
