Yes...I've been gone a long time....the ups and downs have been unbelievable. Ijust had three good days...my feet were just numb...but today, my feet hurt like you wouldn't believe. I don't have a clue....mixing and matching with the neurontin....the vicodine...the tramadol....it is horrible. There is no rhymn or reason to any of this crap.

Hi Jack:
Have you ever noticed that your pain is worse when the barometer is low? And some people have more pain when it is cold outside. Here in MN we have frequent changes of air pressure - it is up and down a lot. We have a barometer at home - and you can also get the barometer reading on the local weather channel, if you get that on your cable TV.

Jak,
Just for the heck of it, go to painonline.org and read the article on "How Nerves Act When in Pain". I have been reading up a lot lately on Central Pain Syndrome which btw my Neurologist diagnosed me with this past summer. If nothing else, it helps to explain what is occuring. And made sooo much more sense to me. It might not be what is happening with you. But it sure helped me to understand why certain meds just aren't effective or just barely take the edge off. And, oh, just wanted to mention too...it is not the cold that bothers me. It is the heat and humidity. Or, maybe even changes in the barometric pressure...my spinal disorders really act up then.

The central pain website is a very interesting read. It's truly an amazing journey trying to diagnose nerve pain. I've really beginning to finally isolate the things that do make it better or worse. I'm actually going to get an anti-inflammatory injection in my toes wednesday. If, walking is hurting the healing from the almost 2 year old surgery, I should find out fast. I believe it is more neuropathy than the result of the surgery. When my feet are feeling the best, I only have the numbness from the nerves being removed. I am finding...again...that Lyrica appears to be my drug of choice. Although I've started and stopped this and Neurontin....along with Tramadol I feel like a pharmacy nightmare. They know me better than my wife.
