they went ahead and cancelled him anyway...
they cashed the checks but we got a letter from BC/BS that he was cancelled.
i am going to call his former employer on Monday and ask WTF. i mean, they cant just cash our check for continuation then cancel him. can they?
thing is, the termintation of coverage was listed as the day they let him go (October 27), but the employer sent us a letter two days later stating that if he wanted continued coverage he had to get the first check in by Nov 7th, which we did.
i also sent a check for the NEXT premium to insure he would still be covered.
so what is this all about? did they just "forget" to tell BC/BS to continue his coverage??
do i need to threaten them with my lawyer on this? is this illegal for them to do?
hopefully just a little paperwork mix-up, but it looks as if the owner of the place called BC/BS and cancelled my hubby IMMEDIATELY after letting him go and his wife, who does the books, followed the LAW and offered him continued coverage.
this is so frustrating. first we have to battle them for unemployment (which he got) and now this.
