Cooking, playing in the snow, and putting together Vincent's birthday telescope to use tonight! We got a bunch of library books yesterday, including a book on tape about a very bad winter storm to listen to together instead of tv.
I'm so so totally looking forward to a nice day here with my family. I used to dread this kind of thing, stress out. I really enjoy it now, taking it moment by moment and drinking it all in cause hey they'll be grown someday.
So HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

We stay home too...mostly because of Coley's diet..it's JUST too stressful policing him in a crowd...but also we've just sorta gotten used to not being around a lot of commotion, although I think he handles it SO much better than he used!
We made a 12lb turkey for just the 4 of us, we LOVE left overs! Plus I'm looking forward to the soup!!! We had potatoes, stuffing & broccoli, and B-day cake for me for desert...course I had to make it though so Coley could eat it. But it's weird, I guess, I really wouldn't want it any other way! He had SO much fun helping me frost it, and putting the candle (a #2) on it, and singing happy B-day, then blowing out the candle with me...priceless moments!
It was 60 degrees and a beautiful fall day today...DH & Coley & Audrey played outside in the leaves...when I asked Coley what he was thankful for, he said for ALLLL the leaves that fell out of the trees so he could make a HUMOUNGUS pile to play in!
Oh, we had quiche for breakfast, Coley called it bacon pie :D ...it's the only pie he can have.
We had a GREAT day! I'm SO SO proud of him, it really was the very best present I ever could have gotten!
Hope you all had an awesome day too!!!! Can't wait to hear all about them!
PS, Mili I didn't realize Vincent's B-day was so close to mine, what is his actual B-day? Mine is tomorrow, but we'll be out so we celebrated today with Coley & Audrey.

His was Nov 13, the party was the 17th - omg a total blast. Pool party, lots of kids from his SN Boy Scouts and some kids from school too. He loved it, and this was the first year ever he was not a bit 'critical' of what he got for a present, was far more into the party cause of all the friends coming. I mean, it just leaves me breathless (in a good way, not like when I forget my heart meds). I look at him, he's just making gains I could have never visualized, it's miraculous.
Today was truly a miracle, he and Carmen played together all day. That is a FIRST. Vince did far more 'give' than take, I mean Carmen was really enjoying the role of whiney little sister, and Vince was just LETTING her. Not correcting her, explaining rules, totally freaking over his complete misunderstanding of what she said, nothing had to be all HIS way, it was one of the least stressful days of my entire life - they played outside for a good 2 hours in this cold weather and had to find fun, like there's no pool or hose or sensory stuff or usual circus of fun I try and preassemble so they can tolerate play and not complain every 5 seconds. Usually, only one at a time can play outside, it seems they are under foot constantly, what a nice break, what a nice day.
Big big big Happy Thanksgiving to all.
