I was thrilled to see a few months back a post about the Skechers Mary Jane shoes for gals who do or do not use an AFO. I found a really great site that sells them for a good price. Right now they are having a sale and I did have over 200 bucks worth in my cart before I came to my senses and deleted a few pairs. Anyhoo, these shoes are great. They are so easy to get into...just a criss/cross strap. I can put them on all by myself, QUICKLY, and I'm out the door once I get my butt downstairs. AND.......they are so comfortable! Lightweight, and actually cute. I get lots of compliments from both my third graders in my classroom and even my 20 yr. old something daughters who usually think I dress like a lesbian. "Not that there's anything wrong with dressing like a lesbian." Please I do not mean to offend anyone. It's just that I can't wear heels anymore and fisherman sandals only go so far. Here's the website for these shoes: www.6pm.com Click on Skechers, put in your size and then I usually put in "show me the lowest priced ones first." And whoever it was who posted about these shoes in the first place, THANK YOU!:D Oh and it was only $6.95 to ship all 3 pairs of my shoes, plus no sales tax.;)

Oooooo!!! Shoes!! :D

I desperately need new shoes for winter, my wonderful Crocs are probably going to be a wee bit too cold to wear this winter.

I can already tell we're going to have a weird winter. It was 73 degrees yesterday (a record warm temp) and today I think it was about 41 degrees. Tomorrow it's supposed to snow. I think I'll go shoe shopping for the shoes you mentioned.

I have to take my mom shopping tomorrow anyways, so I'll look for the Skechers while I'm out tomorrow. I havent worn sneakers in almost a year. My feet love my Croc shoes too much.

Try Nike "barefoot" shoes - I found that shoes have to be tied or fastened all the way around in order to help me and that I need as little resistance as possible from stiff soles - it really minimizing the foot cramping.

I used to love Sketchers, but the soles got to be to hard to "bend" when walking. When I discovered the Nikes I thought I was in heaven - I could walk much further without foot cramping and discomfort. The Nike soles are sliced horizontally all along the bottom making them super easy for weak feet to bend and walk. They also come with 2 different insoles so you can wear them with or without socks depending on which insoles you use.

They are MUCH cheaper if you locate a Nike outlet store instead of buying them retail.

Another good brand which makes some shoes with very thin soles is Puma.

Kewl! I'll have to look around for all those brands and see which ones feel better.

The last time I bought sneakers had to have been sometime in 2004 or 2005. I still have those sneakers, and still occasionally wear them. As long as it's not raining or snowy outside. (big holes in the sole of the right shoe)

It might snow tomorrow! (allegedly a "measurable snow") I'm not happy. I dont like snow. (plus my Xmas display in the backyard keeps falling over)

I have some NIke barefoot shoes and agree they are very comfortable. It's just that they take a bit more time for me to get them on my feet. Maybe I'll try them again in a whole size larger. The ones I have now are a half size larger and are really hard to get on even with the laces undone. Once they are on, they are plenty big, but there's no way I could fit a sock in there too. I also can't get an AFO on with my those but can with my Skechers that have the velcro skinny straps.:D
