Since I'll be leaving for my Aunt's house on Wednesday until Sunday night I thought I'd start this thread and see how far it gets. What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?? Let me start.
I'm thankful for....MY NEW INDEPENDENT LIFE AND EVERYONE WHO SUPPORTED ME AND MADE IT POSSIBLE!! :D
Last year at this time I was getting ready to leave a life I lead my entire life, a life where I had around the clock care, a life that was safe and secure, bet yet not fullfilling, it was missing something, and that was a life of new beginnings and new adventures with a sense of independence. When I left the nursing facility where I resided at for the last 25 years of my 47 years I was scared to death and didn't know what to expect. Life was rough for those first 9 months, pure Hell you might say with someone whom I thought was a friend that turned out to be so curel and mean. Back in the middle of July my 84 yr old Grandma came to my rescue and had me come live with her until I made my journey to Virginia. With the help from my Aunt and all her love and guidance I have come to this little town of Floyd and I am making the best out of life that I can. I never imagined in a million years that I'd be doing this good and have so many opportunities for the future in this small town.
So what am I thankful for?? LIFE and all the great stuff in it, and my Aunt, she's my rock right now, she's be here every step of the way for me and I can't thank her enough!!
So now its your turn, what are you thankful for?? :D
