Great Recovery. Went in for craniotomy to remove avm from middle cerebral artery on Thursday a.m. and was out of hostpital on Tuesday. I have no pain no headaches just tired and a little soreness here and there. No complaints and am excited about feeling so good. Praying and hoping anyone that is getting set up to do this will have as good as recovery.

I did not know that there could be a good recovery I did have concerns going in for the surgery. I am now over two and half weeks now, off all medication except my blood pressure.

If you have any questions feel free to send me a message. :) donna

Donna,
I am so happy for your quick recovery! It seems amazing that recovery from surgery on your brain could go so quickly and smoothly...the wonders of modern science, huh?! We have a neuro appointment today for my son, so may have news of my own later. I'll post an update! ;-)

Donna,
We had our appointment today; the neuro we were sent to was a Tourettes specialist, which had me concerned that they would just stick him in the Tourettes 'slot' and not consider the other possiblities that our family history suggests. The diagnosis as of this afternoon is Transient Tic Disorder, but without me even actually requesting it the doc said he has no prob ordering an MRI/MRA to be certain there is nothing else going on and to put my mind at ease. He is scheduled for a sedated MRI and MRA at the end of January. Interestingly enough, it's the same place as my cardio appointment but a day later...guess I'm putting my soccer-mom-mobile back on autopilot to Columbus (now Nationwide) Childrens' Hospital! ;-l We have cardio for oldest son (following up on his pulmonary AVMs) on December 10, then my cardio on 1/28, with the MRI/MRA on 1/29....hope it's a mild winter at least on those days! ;-)

Thanks for your concern...I'm sure I'll "see" you around here before then...

Gracious Peg, You do indeed have alot going on. I will have to look up Tourettes & Transient Tic Disorder to find out what that is about. Sure hope
the time goes by easily for you all especially with the holidays coming.
Are your kids feeling okay? How are you doing? May the weather stay good for your travel! :) donna

I wish I had found this forum when I first had my AVM. In the meantime, some fellow survivors developed another forum site located at http://www.avmsurvivors.org. You might find some additional information there.
