It is wonderful to see this site up and running. My 44 year old sister passed away in 2004 from a pica aneurysm rupture. 3 surgeries to try and repair it. In the end she had too much neurological damage. A blood clot took her life after surviving 70 days of ups and downs. Miss her everday.

Important to have yourself checked. Our Dad's mother passed away at a young age due to a aneurysm and so did her sister. I was tested by means of a mra about 16 months ago and It came back negative.

If any one needs support this is the site to find it. I hope all those who previously posted will re-register again. I look forward to reading all the posts and helping others thru my family's experience.

Take Care

Hi Shelly,
My grandma passed away when I was 2 from a brain aneurysm, My dad had a cerebral bleed at about 28 yrs. old, My sister had 2 blood clots in her brain and had a stroke at the age of 33. Im 34 and last year I had a stroke during decompression surgery for a chiari malformation.

I have regular brain MRI's every 6mos-1yr. to monitor my chiari and syringomyelia. I was wondering if they would show any possibilities of blood clots or do you have to have special tests run for aneurysms?

Thanks for the info. Its a scary thing huh?
