I have seen the advertisements on TV for products for colon cleansing. I've also seen the over-the-counter products at the drug store.

I was wondering if anyone has tried these and if it was beneficial to you?

Thanks, Daf

many times.
My mother, a health nut swore by these...that makes ones mind clearer having all the toxins removed, your colon cleansed, etc.
I say....HOG WASH!
How on earth can these claims be nothing more than this?
Think about it....when you have a BM...your colon IS cleansed!
There's no lurking fecal matter lurking in pockets and crannies as they like you think would be. Is shear crap!
I've had numerous Colonoscopys because of Chrons disease and have seen many pictures of my own colon.
Its smooth and clean, just like the inside of my mouth.
Is smooth pink tissue.
Your entire digestive system is made up of same tissues from your mouth to end of your anus.
The muscles push the matter out where is eliminated naturally.
Unless you have diseased colon and or intestines, there is no where for matter to collect and hide.
Don't fall for these worthless treatments!
If they say they give you energy, perhaps they do when your colon is introduced to something that contains something that could cause stimulation....I E..Coffee enemas/colon cleansers.
Your anus and vagina tissues can and do absorb items placed within.
You can insert medications into either of these orifaces and will be absorbed during the time is inside you.
If you're vomiting, can't hold anything down....any medication can be inserted there for absorbtion...such as pain meds, anti nausea meds, etc.
This is just what I've learned by having worthless treatments by well meaning misguided people....and a few money hungry charletons as well!
They always have a "ploy" or angle to take ones money!

cheryl, Thanks for your reply. Those tv infomercials are so scary. If you're sure--then I won't worry about it anymore.

I don't think I've ever heard this said so forcefully yet dead on! I have been eating brown rice and fresh veggies with my steak since 1965 and get tired of junk food eaters telling me how their life and spirit have blossomed through colon cleansing - if stuff gets stuck, you get rushed to the hospital with infection, blockage, or diverticulitis. I remember my internist saying during my colonoscopy that it was as pink and healthy as a newborn, but you could tell he said that to most ladies!

Ever notice how inaccessable your anus is?
Is the hardest spot on our body to reach!
Is meant to be left alone people!
If THERE really is stuck fecal matter lurking inside, for sure you'd be seriously ill.
Oh the lies about colon cleansings just makes me sooo angry because they are ONLY playing on ones lack of knowledge!
Your intestines look exactly like your mouth, pink and smooth!
Now why doesn't gum stick there?
The next time some kook tells me they witnessed all these huge worms the naturopath giving the colonics showed them....I'm gonna slap them!
Just a bunch of hogwash, lies and another money making ploys!
Worthless crap!
If you want to clean your innerds out, go get one of those salty sodas, colon prep...that'll clean you out!
Don't allow anyone to put a hose up you, claiming you're mind will be clear!
Just don't eat junk food! Then your mind will be clear!

I was visiting a dear friend who bought the popularly advertised cleansing system on the internet...........and it is expensive for what it is. She called me in to the bathroom to observe the monsters that she was passing. Yeh, right. She was passing mucus and that was no surprise, given the harsh results she was experiencing.

Given all of the meds that I am on, I have to work at maintaining anything that resembles normal function. My "guts" have had to have taken quite a beating over the years and I have a colonoscopy every 12-18 months. When I take the prep, nothing comes out but the predictable matter and there are no pockets of petrified pooop left behind, let alone the 10-15 pounds that the author of the "studies" says.

I think the "testimonies" are folks who want to jump on the bandwagon, have their report on the internet, and say what it takes. I love the reports of two headed monsters..........teeth and all.
