Membership consists of clinicians, scientists investigating basic and clinical aspects of epilepsy, and other professionals interested in seizure disorders. Members represent both pediatric and adult aspects of epilepsy.
The American Epilepsy Society’s Annual Meeting features symposia, lectures, poster presentations and exhibitions. The AES Annual Meeting provides an open forum for members to communicate and disseminate current findings in the field of epilepsy. coppied and pasted that….

Hi Deborah,

First of all thank you for being so kind to Marilou. We had a good trip to UCLA. The Doctor was awesome.

Secondly, please give my congratulations to Austin. What a fine looking young man he is. I wish him all the best.

Sincerely,

Wow, Deborah! This is fantastic news! I see Austin will be getting a scholarship, what a blessing that will be! I hope it's a really GOOD one, one that will really allow him some freedom to study without worrying about the financial impact of higher education!

As an aside, I also saw that the young man from Illinois who wrote that incredible essay/speech that he gave to his high school classmates in a school assembly is also going to get a scholarship. He wrote the speech about the hurtful words that people use about special needs kids and compared it to the prejudice of being of a minority race and being called derougitory names. It was a very powerful speech, and if you haven't read it, I'd be happy to copy it here. His sister has special needs and epilepsy, and he is her greatest advocate and protector. I'm very happy he is getting an award too. I'm sure ALL the winners of these scholarships are VERY deserving, but I'm really glad for this young man, too!

Congratulations Austin on YOUR scholarship, and on being so honored. I loved the quote used under your picture... you are absolutely right, life's a marathon! Don't use up all your energy right away, spare some for the middle and end of the race too! But, keep on going, and keep reaching for your goals, you WILL get there, and you will accomplish much!

Thanks for sharing this great news Deborah!
