Itchies!

My PCP accidentally wrote my script to be filled a few days later than I needed it, she was pretty swamped and I didn't look at the script till I was long gone from the clinic :(

I went w/out my pain meds for 3 or 4 days and I suffered some beginning withdrawal effects. I am back on them now, and feeling alot better, though my hair itches like something feirce, and other parts of my body.

How long will this last? How can I ease the itching? I never had this issue when I started the percocet I am guessing because I went up gradually.

Meff, I know about itching like that when my meds wasn't right, but like you, it didn't do like that before. the Dr. just said I needed to relax!! I wanted to give the "Itch" to DR."

Still, maybe you should call your Dr. and ask about it. I have become allergic to certain meds. after I had taken them at other times so I guess a call into the Dr. office wouldn't hurt. Hope it's better soon:)

I get very itchy from any narcotics but codeine is the worst. I don't know if it is anywhere near the same as what you are suffering, but I use Phenergan and it helps quite a lot. If you don't have an rx for that, maybe Benedryl would help. At the very least, maybe you would get lucky and sleep through some of it!

I also use ice bags sometimes, but I can't see that on your head for very long.

Hope that helps a little. For me, it is a side effect that has never gone away so I just pop the phenergan when I need to.

A-ha! Thanks for the heads up. I just realized I ran out of my Zyrtec recently which is a prescription antihistamine. I will definately get it filled now !
