I hope that this study starts to change the laws because I drive under a severe threat even though I am not a threat to others on the road. My family rides with me driving without any problem but if I have an accident then I can be arrested. I count on the fact that I don't exhibit any impairment so the police have no reason to check me. Now there is scientific evidence to support the fact that we aren't impaired. Thanks for the report.

Here's another angle to the DUI laws. My doctor told me that if I want to take medication out of the house in my purse it must be in a labled bottle. So lets say I will be out for a while and I have my Vicoden bottle with me and I get pulled over. As I'm going through my purse to get to my license the officer sees a medicine bottle and wants to know what it is so I tell him. Now of couse he will want to see the bottle and he will know that I'm on a high dose. Unless he is a nice guy and believes me when I tell him that I don't feel the medication at all, chances are good that he will arrest me for DUI.
IMHO articles such as this one should be made known in every state and to every officer on the roads. Otherwise the office will assume that we are under the influence.
