Looking to start a support group in the Tampa Bay area..

Looking to start a support group in the Tampa Bay area.. I want to have a monthly meeting or bi-weekly. Primary goal is to help eachother by sharing our experiences, recovery, and information.. I personally have found it difficult to get answers from doctors to alot of the post-op problems i've been having. I hope as a group we can share our knowledge and help eachother get the answers we are looking for and help eachother thru the difficult times.

If there is anyone out there that is interested please let me know..

We live in Tampa and my wife is planning to have her surgery in December. A local support group sounds like a good idea. We talked to a doctor at Shands hospital in Gainesville and they are trying to establish one as well.

Wow y eye's just perked right up (still have double vision and blurry vision) I too and in Tampa bay and would so love to meet with others.

Sorry I haven’t been on here in a while. I am still interested in putting together a support group. It's been 3 years since my surgery but I still have difficulties and strange occurrences.. So I think it would be beneficial for me and others to form a group in our area.

So if you r still interested in putting something together, PM me and we will get to work on this...

The BAF has a wealth of information and it comes mailed to you in a packet! It's really a help to get a group started. I think that there is a support group that meets in the Auditorium in Gainesville by the stadium - at least they did have one several months ago. On the BAF site, they will give the names and times of local support groups in different states = you might want to try that as well. Best of luck!

Well I am ready to get together if others are still interested. Please send me a private message and we can pick a restaurant to meet at that is central to all. I really hope that I am not the only one. We are really so lucky to have so many in our area.
So I look forward to hearing from anyone interested. I would love to meet others in the same boat. And Trish i certainly hope you are one of them.
