I was looking for a conversation that we had a while back. I can't remember exactly when it was. I think it may have been early 2006, maybe even late 2005.
Is it possible to find these?

from the old format board at Wayback machine. (none from vBulletin however).
Here is a sample page from:
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.braintalk.org
If you click on some--they may load, or not. It is pretty random.
Not all were archived. And sometimes it is VERY slow.
When we changed to the new format (this one) ...all of those posts are jumbled and not retreivable on that site. Using Brain.hastypastry.net you can get
dates, but if you click on them --- all empty.
http://web.archive.org/web/*/brain.hastypastry.net
If you play around the index... you can click around autism and get the index, but it is the CURRENT one, no old posts available. It is very very strange.
So try it out...you'll see.
So in answer to the question about fairly recent posts...before the crash....
it looks like they are all gone. ALL.

version software for Braintalk began in early March 04.
It is the March 04 thru mid July 06 that is unavailable.
The archives from Oct 06 to present--- are mixed up in the index. If you click one category it brings up another. You can fiddle around and find autism however, but the index only brings up current posts. (this is for precrash index)
Dates covering post crash times give this message:
http://web.archive.org/web/20061125165731/http://brain.hastypastry.net/
The index posted from tgrimes is for the old board.
Those posts are sometimes archived..sometimes not.
In general the longer ones tend to be most retrievable. What is really
maddening is how SLOW Webarchive can be. It requires alot of patience.
It appears to me that Wayback is blocked somehow. And that our old data, archives from 3-04 thru 7-06 are corrupted and gone.
There have been EIGHT incarnations of Braintalk (Neuro-Mancer) and all of them are gone. Some of the 1997-2000 board are available at Wayback.
Here is a link to the old old board:
http://web.archive.org/web/*/neuro-www.mgh.harvard.edu
For example here is the old autism forum:
http://web.archive.org/web/20020202212845/neuro-www.mgh.harvard.edu/forum/AutismMenu.html
It appears that over the years this trend has stayed.... old data lost over and over. So if you have an particular interest in some thread...it is best to save it. You can do so easily now with Evernote---it is a free program that saves the exact page as it appears.

here is a post from when the old old board started up in 1997-- The lament?
Where are the "old" posts? That was 10 years ago, and we are still asking that same question!
Its back to "Forum Classic"

Hi Murphy,
Well, I see that just like Coca Cola, we have gone back to the "original formula" forum format. I also hope that people will come back, but it is disheartening to see all the previous posts and responses are not converted and available. I have spent many hours reading and writing detailed responses to people's questions. All the original "Forum 1" posts can still be read. But I never saw a converstion for "Forum 2". Now we are at "Forum 4" I hope that Forums 2 and 3 are made available soon.
Each flavor had some nice features. I liked the "thread" feature of Forum 3, and the "personal profile" feature of Forum 2. Both of these formats seemed to be be "slower", so maybe the Classic is the best overall.
Re your condition,,,its good you have someone to go to bat for you and your HMO. You should be able to get to the bottom of this with this new series of tests you are having. Unfortunately, doctors are getting pressed by the insurance companies to see more and more patients, some see over 70 patients / week. I think its criminal, how can you get quality care if the Dr.s are in such a rush!
Come by the Spinal Disorders chat room weekdays around 5:30 PM Eastern Time.
Take care,
-Alan
