I just started taking Lamictal just under 2 weeks ago - 25mg 2x per day. I've been feeling extremely cold all of the time and have to bundle up in order to feel comfortable. Everyone is looking at me like I'm crazy. I work in an office where the temps are normal and everyone else is wearing short sleave shirts - sometimes a sweater when the air comes on. The temps outside are still nice -60's - 70's. When I get home, we open the slider to let fresh air in to circulate and I have to put on flannel pj's and wrap myself in a blanket while my fiance sits there in shorts and t-shirt....
Has anyone experienced this with lamictal?

Nope. I have taken lamictal for pain for quite a while. I do bruise very easily, but never felt cold. Although heat is a real problem for me (MS) so maybe that is why?
Maybe once you get up to a full dose it will pass.
Take care,
Deb

I have been taking Lamictal 800mg a day for 2yrs now. I was never one to feel cold but I bundled up alot now. Not sure if the change in me is from my brain aneurysm or the Lamictal.

I've been on Lamictal since August 2006. I've had various minor side effects like word find, but it passed within a week or two. One side effect that never went away has been oily skin and a change in body smell. My wife says she has noticed a change in my body smell even right after showering. She can only smell it if she puts her nose to my body and it does not cause an issue in public. If anything Lamictal has made me warmer and I've lost some weight. It has been one of the most effective AED for me and would not consider switching because of the side effects I've described. Good luck to you
