I don't know if you remember but Theo's brothers got to go on a trip to see his sister, he did not want to go because he couldn't face getting on a plane, but then later couldn't wait for them to leave so he could have 'alone' time.
Well, later this month my hubby is taking a week vacation, he started talking about this project he was going to start (building another room in the garage) and I got so worried over it because we have too many other home improvement projects to finish up first. Even though he was half-teasing about it, he worried me enough that I told him to go on a trip with Theo that week. So he is!
The other boys are a little jealous, because unlike their trip, Theo will have dad to himself for a week, and they get to stay at a motel in DC a couple days before they go to Virginia, and go to smithsonian and a couple other things.
So I am trying to play up the 'but you finally get mom to yourself' thing, so they are looking forward to that. They will get to go to a nearby restaurant that Theo is scared to go, because they light a fire at your table... one of those japanese steakhouses.
The other thing is, this will be the first time in over three years that I have been away from theo for extended time, other than his time in summer camp this year. That will be kinda hard to get used to, but i'm looking forward to it with thought of what I might actually be able to do with no kids at home during the day....
