this study describe it as a "new syndrome" in page 18
so for those parents with late-onset autism in their children this article might explain the reaction to or the connection between vaccines - autism - gut dysfunction

page 18

http://www.vaproject.org/thrower/autistic-enterocolitis-briefing-200603.pdf

editing to add a compendium of studies done on gut- virus/es (clostridia=green poo) -late-onset autism/autism, even is mentioned the boulardii

http://www.neurotransmitter.net/autismclostridia.html

and, finally, at least for me, what Dr. Wakefield describes as onset of "adult autism":

"Chronic fatigue syndrome is associated with chronic entero virus of the stomach" by john k.s. chia and andrew y.chia
this is an abstract but i saw the full text.

I don't understand how anything can be a 'new' syndrome. Did you read that whole thing? That is over 400 pages but I guess some is citations.
There are a lot of other studies on yeast overgrowth as cause of cfs, but those other two sites say enterovirus is cause? Did you note the control group numbers vs sick group in that study, is that a normal ratio?

I'm so tired of the mercury/vaccine debate. Just seems like both sides are spinning their wheels and nobody is proving anything. The clostridium stuff I do find interesting- just because its something new for me to consider.

Clostridium=green poo (I didn't see that observation in the articles), but I think its important to remember that green poo does not neccesarily=clostridium.

as i said, apparently, we have to notice that the new generation of autistic has far more severe "behaviours" than the older ones.
this long review is for those who are aware of the close dependency of brain-gut-autism, in the gut is found most of the immune system, also the gut is the main manufacturer of the chemicals/neurotransmitters that the central nervous system/brain needs to develop normally
at all events id more than 400 pages, and somebody who took the trouble to do this super long compendium... parents of autistic should realize/think that there is someone that cares for the future of all our children, normal and autistic. it's time to stop the epidemic

Oh, absolutely there is a gut-brain connection. In fact, healthy guts are fantastically important. The whole body, including CNS depends on the gut for everything but oxygen and vitamin D. No doubt its a big player. But then, take a look at the immune system. If it doesn't function properly then the gut cannot maintain health or keep its contaminates out of the body. You get kind of a chicken or the egg thing going-what causes what? Then too, all of the systems of the body so depend on one another- I see no way to point to one body system and say "there! That's the culprit!" Its like the story of the blind men "specializing" in interpretting the part of the elephant that they can feel from the area they are studying. All of them are right about their own part, but nobody sees the whole elephant.

so true....my son was a victim of that mentality and worse has the blessed approval of the medical association calling it "standard care" meaning the child can't speak, has "behaviours", sedate him and darn the adverse effects :(
