Everything, I mean everything, I eat goes through me within five minutes of eating. It is as through my digestive system is on a fast track. At first it was only solid foods like meats, but now it is all foods. At first I thought it was related to a hernia but that was repaired yet the problem has persisted.
Anyone else have this problem? I've had numerous colonoscopies but they all come back clear and the doctors don't have answers.

Have you had an endoscopy lately? About ten years ago my wife had an entire year of explosive diarrhea. She had all sorts of bowel and intestinal tests that showed nothing. Finally she had an endoscopy and that revealed that she was riddled with stomach ulcers, even though she had no symptoms. The The gastric specialist she saw said it was a normal although rare condition that the body will react to food as if it were a poison or some other foreign toxin. She was in her fifties at the time and was cured with Prilosec. Good luck,

I also had this. It would go directly through me and I'd quit eating for a week and it would get better. The doctor did a colonoscopy and an endoscopy (EGD) on me right as an episode was subsiding and found a healing ulcer. So I agree with Jim that ulcers can cause these symptoms.
Basically the doctor said the faster it goes through you, the higher up the digestive tract the problem is.

I found this thread and decided it needed to be posted again. I have had diarrhea for about a year now. It started right after I had my gallbladder removed and hasn't stopped since. As long as I don't eat, I am ok. Within 15 minutes of me eathing anything, I have uncontrollable diarrhea. I am afraid to leave my house. If I do go out to eat with my husband, we have to leave and go straight home. We have had to leave the movie theatre, cancel trips and rearrange schedules so I could be close to a bathroom. Has anyone else had this after having their gallbladder removed? I don't know how much I can take this. It sometimes gets to the point of where I become dehydrated and have to live off Gatorade. Help!!!

Have you folks looked up Dumping Syndrome? I used to have the same problem and was diagnosed with DS. I don't have to worry about it any longer due to the opoids I take, now I have the opposite problem.

Hi all,
I have been suffering this too, eight months, then about 6 weeks fairly normal after a
steriod treatment, now back again with a vengance. A colonoscopy showed collagenous
colitis, apparently a buildup of collagen and inflammation of the colon. Various anti biotic treatments and cortico steriods were not successful, and now I am wondering
what to do next. It really does interfere with life when you are always about run to
the bathroom!
I will be checking back incase any of you have relief (the fiber didn't do anything to
halt my problem) or new insight. k

Have any of you been checked for paracites? My ex got them swimming in a river. Just a thought! I hope at least some of you are doing better.

there is this really controversial book, about the bowel, digestion & fiber........i had constant diarrhea for about 5-6yrs.......i am 1/2 way thru the book & so much of what he says, goes along with other things i've known about for a long time......and other stuff makes a whole lot of sense.......i have started doing some of the things he has mentioned, just in the last week........i have to say, the cramping, pain, churning gut has been relieved & the diarrhea is better..... like i said, i am 1/2 the way thru......the book is called "Fiber Menace", by: Konstantin Monastyrsky...........there is another book called: "Why Stomach Acid is Good For You" & why u can't live without it, by: Jonathan V. Wright, M.D......one thing u can do right now, is take some potassium......there r different kinds, i've tried 3 different ones so far, the one i like for my body is potassium bi-carbonate......potassium controls the water in the bowels, without enough of it, u have too much water in the bowel & it doesn't get reabsorbed, which is what it's suppose to do, which will turn ur bowels to liquid as soon as u put something in ur mouth......i understand how u feel & dr's r almost useless....... also, cut out all grains & fiber......i know it sounds wrong, but it calms the intestines.........betaine hydrochloride might help ur stomach, which is the first place ur food goes, before it gets to ur gut.......alot of people complain of constipation, but i'll tell u this, at least they can go shopping, u know, leave the house......it is the worst.......oh, also, cut back on ur drinking of water, not alot, till things get more normal, altho, that's a relative term......i'm wondering, is the diarrhea worse when u get upset or stressed out?.........get those books, they r pretty amazing........write me if u want any more info, also, check the posts i've made, they all revolve around digestion..........hope u get relief......chris....
