Hi guys
It was the 1 year anniversary of my ETV surgery yesterday :) I am surprised I didn't think about it at the time as I am still in (justified) pessimistic/cautious optimism mode, even though my NS said he doesn't expect my ETV to fail at all now. I am also nervous because I move into university accommodation tomorrow and it is my first time away from home without my parents for more than a week, and also with non-family members providing help with daily living tasks. But I have registered with the student medical practice, uni is actually near the hospital which I can access anytime, and furthermore the girl in the room opposite me also has hydrocephalus (though she is shunted) so I do have a good support system, and I can go home for weekends etc if I want. I may not post much for a while as it is fresher's week (party time :D ) and then I will have lectures and things. I will have internet access though so I will try and check in and see how everyone is doing :) Thanks for all your support and I will keep you updated as I start uni (the biggest frustration is who helps me get to bed at night, at a time I want, but that's a whole 'nother thread :( lol)
