I'm so angry I'm shaking and ready to freak out big time!
I am so fuming mad...I wonder if I'll make sense in typing this.
I live in the most horrid state on earth.
I think HITLER is head of Fish and Wild Life here in Oregon!
Everyone here in Oregon is in huge uproar as this story plays out RIGHT this minute!
This family found a deformed spotted/white fawn, took it in to a vet, had it treated...it has trouble walking as its back legs are deformed.
So this family close to us, has kept "Snowball" in their 5 acres secured by fencing so preditors cannot get her.
SOME WICKED MONSTER  turned them in for having a deer instead of leaving it in the wild.
Fish and Wild Life went out there this morning to pick it up, see if can rehab it to turn in wild.
Then STATE Police got invovled....showed up...now they've shot the deer full of tranqualizers and are removing it from these peoples home AND they will EUTHENISE....KILL it!
Oh wow...rather than let these people keep this deformed deer where it is safe, happy and having a wonderful life...but the state claims it belongs to "The people of Oregon"...and cannot be penned....and if it cannot live in the wild...then KILL THE DMND THING!
There is not enough room for as many mad faces as I'd like to paste here.
Many here in Oregon are outraged!
Let the deer live, and let these people continue caring for her the rest of her life! How obsured!
But thats government for you!...and they want to help our children in Foster and Day cares...hope they don't find a deformed child that belongs to the state...what will they do next?!?!
I am so outraged...my blood pressure is skyrocketing.
I'm about to get in my truck and drive down there and freak out, then claim insanity! Anyone wanna join me?!?!
Here's a link...I hope others will send a comment and call OR dept Fish and Wild life in Salem OR.

Too bad government people don't have anything more urgent to see to eh? This makes me sick! Hope the "snitch" is happy now! NOT!!

If they release Bucky into the wild-he won't last long, how could he?

On the plus side,I'm positive someone from a sanctuary will see this story & take both of them,if it's not too late that is.

Thanks for sharing.....

this is heart breaking. But I have not had time to research all through the items telling about it all, but I think what likely got them into trouble was the normal, male deer that mated with the injured one. I think they would view that as not being ? what, he belongs to the citizens of Oregon? Who ever understands what people in charge think when they claim they are helping everyone? I just know that yes on the whole it is very gut wrenching and something that I can't, since I'm not a citizen of Oregon, do much about. But I imagine there are plenty of people in Oregon that will have a say so about it.

I hate finding an injured wild thing because I never know what is the best thing to do. I have to say that yes, if I'd found the deformed deer, I would have taken it in for help if I had the money. Since they did, I would think it was the most humane thing they could do. I hope that they definitely get to keep that deer. And if the male deer is made to let go, that he has not become so used to easy living that he is indeed food for other wild animals if made set loose. But no way should an animal be put down when they could live a full life with a family that loves them and is willing to take care of them. I'd vote for fixing them too, no more babies need be born into captivity. That's what some of the uproar is about I imagine.

I hope some of this makes sense. My mind is on babysitting job right now so forgive me if it doesn't.

In my community, there are several wild life educational places, that will take an injured animal and use it to teach children about how that creature lives in the wild. Things like eagles or other raptor type birds, shot, or injured, and unable to fly, baby animals whose parent has been killed in some way, and are unable to be rehabilitated to the wild, for some reason, etc.

Headquarters for these groups are usually in some kind of city,or county park, supported by donations and staffed by volunteers. Teachers can schedule field trips to the location and arrange for a docent to speak to the children.

This is where that pet deer would be cared for here. Cheerio.
