I think 3x a day would probably help you. I have always taken my PD meds 3x a day.

My doctor just upped my meds on Thursday because my dosage wasn't working anymore. I've gone from 4-1/2 pills to 6-1/2 pills of Sinemet plus 3 Amantadine.

bamyx - three times a day of meds. evens out the effect. Ask your doctor about Amantadine, it makes movement smoother and keeps the other meds. working longer.
JCitron, how long since your dx? For how long have you taken PD medicines? Do you take an agonist like Mirapex or Requip?
Three Amantadine (300 mg ) per day is a lot. After six years of meds. I get along on 100 mg per day. It is a wonderful drug, but it does have side effects.
Sometimes it is more helpful to cut down on medicines than to increase. Your medicines can make your symptoms worse if you take too much of any of them. And increasing quickly makes it even worse.
Sometimes increasing sinemet will give you 'offs' that are worse than when you took less.

I was diagnosed about a year ago with atypical Parkinsonism, and I've been taking the Sinemet for about 2 years, starting at 3 x per day and then up to 4-1/2 per day up until recently. My current neuro added the Amantadine at 1x in April 2007. to be increased to 3x, and everything was fine until about 3 weeks ago when everything stopped working well. She just increased me to 6-1/2 Sinemet. My first neuro put me on Mirpex, which did nothing for me other than make me check for light leaks.
I'm scared that this is something more than just som Parkinsonism.
