I just found Bards Tale beer available in Charleston, SC at Earthfare! I bought two cases. Very pricey at about 11.00 per 6, but when you want a beer you got it! Oh, I haven't tried it yet, as it is not cold, but I'll let you know if the carbonation issue is resolved.

I'm happy for you! I can get New Grist at two different places within ten minutes of my home, one is at a specialty wine store and sells for $8.50 a 6pk, and at Woodman's grocery store, I think I can get it for $7.00 a 6pk. It was nice to have beer this summer.

I will watch for the Bard's Tale, and give it another try. I really like the New Grist... it is a light beer.

I look forward to your report :).

It won't happen until the Fall of 2007, but Arkansas will have its own GF brewery :D They will be offering more than one type of GF beer to please everyone...except me :( I can't have yeast :( But I am happy that all the GF beer drinkers will have another choice.

Although this brewery is in Arkansas, I have no financial interest.

Ok, here is my report. The Bards Tale is GREAT! I normally will have two, but it is so good, I had a third one. It is Friday, you know.

The carbonation issue appears to have been solved. I challenge anyone to tell me it is not as good as Sam Adams.

It's not available in WI yet. :( :( I preferred it over New Grist. I maybe should bug Bards and see if they know when it is coming to WI.

Hmmm a beer does sound good. I'm down to 2 Grists...I'll have to ration them carefully!

I look forward to trying it again! The flavor was fuller, and I can appreciate that, especially in the winter. The carbonation got to me..just because I don't do well with carbonatin..period.

My son is coming home tonight for a 18 hour visit, and he and my husband are going to make some homebrew tomorrow morning. It will be a first time for my son, and the first time in about five years for my husband.... although for awhile he was brewing up a storm. My son is having a brew off with friends... and they are going to blind taste test the results and chose a winner, I guess. He was sure to approve in advance he could have help from an experienced brewer ;).

WOW! Bard's is in Outback! This is the first I have heard about getting GF beer in a restaurant.

Bleh! I never liked "real" beer and I have no intention of trying GF beer. I was listening on the car radio earlier this week and I *think* the guest was a local brewer. They talked about various handcrafted beers and rumors of someone getting beaten up ordering a BudLite at a brewhouse. Someone asked about GF beer, and he said, "Oh yeah, that's for people with Celiac." I could have sworn he said "Bear's Tail" was the name of the beer, though. Not sure if he slipped, or I just wasn't paying enough attention.

Thanks Huddleston. I know that Bards is in all states surrounding us :( I think it's a conspiracy. I think the WI Glutenated Beer Brewers Assoc is behind it ;)

Well, my son lives in Minneapolis, and we are going there next weekend, and planned to eat at OUTBACK! We will be sure to go to one of the Outback's listed... Oh darn! I can't drink beer there... we are taking my mom and dad along, and we don't drink alcohol in my mom's presence.

Well, my son just offered to bring some back when he come's home again in November for a friend's wedding.

That's weird. I see on the Bard's Map (http://bardsbeer.know-where.com/bardsbeer/) that Wisconson is surrounded, except for Michigan.

I see that Bard's is marching it's way westward, at least I hope it is. I don't want to drive to Nebraska just to check it out! New Grist is ok, in my opinion, but I want some choices! It's kinda like rice "cheese", not as good as the real thing.

According to people in my Gluten Intolerance Group this morning, Bard's is at Wild Oats stores in Oregon. :D Westward Ho!!!

No need to ration the Grist. We were grocery shopping tonight at our local Pick n Save. I had to get some little 4oz bottles of red wine. Just for grins I thought I'd take a look to see if they had any New Grist [I know they carry other NGF beers from Lakefront Brewery]. Much to my surprise they had it!

This does cause one dilemma...because I don't have to go to Appleton, WI to get beer...it reduces my excuses to go to the Outback ["Ahhh heck, as long as we're here getting _____________, we might as well go to the Outback"]. ;)

hmmmm.... I will have to check my Pick N Save! That is only about 5 blocks from home :). It keeps getting closer and closer. I'm waiting for the bakery and exclusive gf restaurant :), but things are moving closer!
