Hello everyone,

It's been awhile since I visited, but it looks like the site had a crash recently?

Rose, you had suggested B12 to me almost a couple years ago now and I have been taking injections (although I did order the "methyl" from iherb) as well as recieving what is called a "Meyers Coctail" IV regularly from my ND.

I had been feeling so much better! 5 months ago I started the first full-time job that I've had in over 18 years...and while my health hasn't been perfect before, it seems I've taken a dive.

Initially I noticed fatigue increase, then my heart started racing. I wore a holter moniter for 24 hours and found that my heart raced more than it didn't.
At the high point it was 150 beats per minute for a total of 2.5 hours within that 24 hour period. I was told I had Supra ventricular tachicardia, but when I traveled to see specialists and possibly have a corrective procedure, the cardiologist said the "wrong signal" was not coming from within my heart, but from my vagus nerve...and he doesn't know why.

I was refered to a neurologist who I told my neuro history to (weakness, trembly, restless legs, tingles, twitches, etc) and he was overwhelming un-impressed. He ordered an MRI of my brain which he declared "perfect enough to teach from," and suggested I was depressed and have chronic fatigue syndrome. "Hello and goodbye."

I am not depressed in general although, (after the stress of dealing with the cardiologist, neurologist, and chronic sleeplessness....and hoping to be heard and have an answer) I am feeling pretty low and hopeless now. The neuro said he also had no idea why my vagus nerve was sending faulty messages to my heart. They gave me Enderol and pushed me out the door.

So, I was just wondering if Rose or anyone else may have any ideas?
My energy has crashed, my anxiety/depression are moderate, I'm sleeping very erratically and haven't made it back to work (too stressful/overwhelming) since I returned to town (we have to travel for specialist medical "care") 4 days ago.

Oh, and the one thing that I've never had a reasonable answer for (although it comes and goes and seems to respond to the b12 injection and Meyers IV)...buzzing feeling in the back of my neck at night. This sensation is just intolerable. Anyone ever heard of or experienced such a thing?

I'd really appreciate any help... I tend to joke, but I'm really in a tough spot right now.

Thanks....

Sheri

You might consider some taurine for irregular heartbeat problems. There is no toxicity to taurine. When I started using taurine I noticed a improvement in my mood and my energy level.

I realized I was deficient because I have a b6 deficiency. When taking b12, I think you need to also supplement folic acid AND b6. I don't know if you are taking b6 and how much. But without enough b6 you are not getting taurine because your body takes methionine and converts that into cysteine which is then converted into taurine. Taurine is great for your heart, especially problems with heartbeats. But it can help with depression, or improve your mood.

Great info on taurine at this site.

It may just be that your body is working on those areas now, but I wouldn't want to dissuade you from suspecting other things.

If I remember correctly, one of the good magnesiums might help with two possibilities----magnesium t.... -----check mrsdoubtfyre's magnesium thread for the one that helps with taurine.

You might need magnesium. And I would also get a ferritin test if one hasn't been done recently. And make sure you get a copy of the actual results (always!!!!); some of us have had experience with doctors not bothering to tell us that a ferritin level of 10 or 15 is not good!

So many other things I know little or nothing about :o

Yes, huge crash. So far all our great info is not available. Still hoping.

In the meantime, mrsdoubtfyre has an informative magnesium thread going on an interim board: http://forums.braintalk2.org/showthread.php?t=1138

for all of your ideas.

My ND did suggest Taurine for my mood...I'll just stick with it. It's interesting that it is also good for heart rhythm, although I wonder if the nutrients "for the heart" will be helpful since my heart is racing in response to my vagus nerve rather than from the neurology of the heart itself. Perhaps over production of / or over sensitivity to adrenaline?? The docs really didn't seem to know which came first, the chicken or the egg. (I'm beginning to wonder if they really know anything. Although, I have only good things to say about the nurse practitioner who discovered my racing heart and has admitted that I'm butting up against the limits of western medical science...as opposed to making the assumption that "its all in my head.")

Also will look at my magnesium supplement. I don't take it regularly, but will start. I need to check exactly what it is after reading MsD's info.

Would still be interested if anyone has heard of, dealt with, has ideas about this buzzing/vibrating feeling in the back of my neck. I know it sounds kooky, but its really disturbing and disruptive to my sleep.

Thanks again! I do hope they are able to recover more of the info that used to be available here. I know the B-12 info you posted in the past, Rose, was really great stuff. Congrats on your website...I think that is a great idea and will continue to check out your progress!
