Texas Children's Hospital (our home-away-from-home) is building a neuro research foundation.

Quoted from the Houston Chronicle:

"The neurological institute will conduct research on little-understood genetic ailments that cause developmental problems for 14 million U.S. children.

Officials said it'll be the first facility of its kind in the nation dedicated to the unique issues of a child's brain structure, development patterns and related diseases.

The institute, expected to cost $215 million, will consist of research labs and will encompass 15 floors and 400,000 square feet of space. It will be headed by Dr. Huda Zoghbi, whose research group identified the causative gene in Rett syndrome, the second-leading cause of female retardation."

I'm excited!
