It is great to see this site up and running again. I have only posted on it once in the past but have used it a lot following my husbands (peter) collapse from a ruptured aneurysm whilst on holiday in vegas - we are from england. All of a sudden i was put in this world of which i knew nothing and couldnt see to get any support or information on what was happening to us once we returned by air ambulance to the U.K. This was two years ago now and peter has recovered far more that initial prognoses when nursing homes etc were mentioned. He is now pretty much back to normal apart from a really bad memory which we manage to work around. I did not discover this site until about a year ago and really wish i had known about it in the initial dark days because it would have given me so much comfort and answers to the numerous questions I had which no one seemed willing or able to answer.
So well done, everybody who answers threads is doing a really good job in supporting and helping other people and i will know try and share my experinces as the wife of a sufferer in the hope that I can help and support others through this nightmare to the better times ahead.

Hi Gill ~

I too am glad this board is back up. During the past year or so I have not had enough time to post very often, as I was recovering from my Jan.'05 coiling, dealing with my mom's diagnosis, treatment and death from lung cancer, my heart surgery (to close a hole in my heart - which probably caused the minor stroke in 2001, and led them to diagnose my annie), and then my Jan. '06 re-coiling. Then, to have the board become unavailable, it really hit me how much I miss the people here. Luckily, I could email Pam (pamuk, formerly pamelaelizabeth), so I had some contact.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure I recall you and Peter, although the story sounds vaguely familiar. Sorry about my poor memory. Very glad to hear that Peter is recovering nicely. How are you doing? The caregivers have to take care of themselves, too! I know that's not always easy. Wishing you both all the best!

Take care,
Diane

I have recently discovered this site after all these months of research. It is nice being able to share other peoples experiences. I suffered a ruptured aneurysm in April and was coiled at that time. I have 2 aneurysms on my brain stem and am lucky to be here but thank god I am. I am originally from Wales and most of my family are over there. I have a very supportive husband and wonderful kids who helped me through this time. I hope your husband is well and getting better all time. I too suffer memory loss and headaches but I thank God everyday that I am still alive to watch my girls grow. Thanks for this site it's wonderful!!!!
